Hopefully this is done with the best intension of protecting children from information they don't need at thier age. It is probably a mistake but sometimes there is no way to comfortably answer a question before or after is is asked.

Depending upon your age and the gravity of the so-called lie, I'd spend a little time with Mom or Pop and ASK them by giving an example of what you mean and giving them a chance to explain. It could just be you're wrong in some instances where a stretching of truth served to protect you, who knows?

There have definitely been times I haven't either told my son the full truth or have s t r e t c h e d a statement to either make a point or not upset him or because it wasn't appropriate information for him to know (from me...). When you're a parent, you might get this - until then, or if you have a few years to go before becoming an adult in the real world, I'd keep watching and observing to see if there truly isn't ANOTHER side - that you're NOT seeing - to this situation.

I'm a parent and I don't lie to my kids ... they know that they can trust what I say ... so when I tell them, don't do drugs cuz it will hurt you, they know it will ... when I say, believe in yourself and have confidence in yourself and you will be successful, they know they will

and as far as the parents who do lie, they are just bad parents and should never have had kids to begin with ...

My daughter is 2, I don't lie to her. I don't plan to lie to her, but even now she's already lying to me.

depends on the lie. i told my child that the vegetables i grated into her pata sauce were spices. ( she didn't see me grate them) Otherwise, parents lie to protect their children.
