I was recently given a puppy and was told it was a mini dog but I have never heard of them and have no idea what they grow up to look like. Any ideas pictures would be nice too.

Mini is not a dog breed. Mini is a size. You need to find out what is the breed of the dog. Just as long haired is not a breed it is a coat description.

There is no specific breed that is just called a "mini," but there are lots of breeds that have a miniature variety. Your new puppy may be any of a variety of miniature breeds, or it could be a mixed breed and the person who gave it to you may just be telling you it will be small.

Generally, miniature dogs don't get more than 8-10 pounds.

Mini just refers to the size of the breed there are mini poodles (or toy poodles) there are mini pinschers. Just becdause its a mini does not designate what breed it is. Than just means it will be an extra small dog.

Mini simply means it's a miniature version of a general breed, such as a miniature schnauzer, miniature dachsund, miniature pinscher, etc.
unless you can talk to the breeder/former owner, and clarify, I would just say who cares? and enjoy your dog.

Mini is a size, then is small, medium etc.

I just only would average a mini around 2/3 lbs.

There is no such thing as a "mini dog." It's probably just a mix of a bunch of small dogs.

She became into greater spectacular than you think of. The Toy FoxTerrier became into created with the aid of breeding the sleek Fox Terrier with Chihuahuas, Miniature Pinscher and Italian Greyhounds. of direction after putting a majority of those breeds interior the mixture, the preliminary breeders stored at it long adequate to 'fix variety' and thereby created a clean breed, something the hybrid human beings are no longer doing. yet nevertheless, look at any purebred and in case you look back far adequate you will discover mutts. because of the fact breeds originate from blending different breeds or severe selective breeding interior of a determine breed you will constantly have circumstances the place to the untrained eye breed X would be flawed for breed Y. and in specific situations it is suited to the knowledgeable eye as properly. Who with the aid of sight on my own can tell the version between a Toy Manchester Terrier and a Miniature Pinscher? Even expert dogs judges conflict with this! (notably with examples that don't conform properly to reproduce standards)
