You start with a false assumption. It is impossible to reach a logical conclusion once you have done so.
There is no "only true religion." The idea of an only true religion comes from pathetic persons who desperately need to know that they are "right" in order to sustain a sort of psychological balance.
We are human, at best we see things beyond this world dimly -- and the reality there represents itself to us in many different ways -- just as the reality here represents itself to us in many different ways (do not even pretend that all people see the same things in the same way -- I would be forced to laugh at you).
Religions are expressions of the ways that people (some of them evidently insane, if one is to believe symptoms -- think of the so called "John the Revelator" or more recently "Joseph Smith") see things. Others are expressions of very logical thought constructs -- but all of them are subjective, and none of them is "the only true religion" or even "a true religion." They are believed to be true by their followers, and so fulfill their purpose for those people -- sometimes at dreadful cost, sometimes at considerable gain.
That is simply what the record tells us.

Reynolds

There is no such thing as a true religion if by religion you mean performing rituals, reciting monotone doctrine, and having a form of godliness with no power to convert others.
Religion of that nature is a stench in the nostrils of God and highly offensive to those who love Him.
Form and ceremony are no different in a public meeting than a religious meeting if God's power is not present.
There are spiritual experiences that cannot be called religion.
People get demon possessed. They are controlled by that spirit in every way. That is a negative spiritual experience.
People who are seriously involved in some forms of witchcraft have spiritual experiences that manifest power, but not power from God. I have read a book by an ex-warlock who was able to cast spells that would cause injury and death to others. Another of his spiritual experiences was to have people suddenly appear in his room without using windows or doors.
Other people have spiritual experiences like going to Heaven or Hell and coming back. Others speak of having out of body experiences. Still others declare that they have seen and encountered or (been kidnapped and used) by aliens.
Christians talk about a spiritual experience where they are delivered from spiritual blindness and receive eternal life from God through Jesus Christ. Then instead of a religion they say they have a personal relationship with God that is vitally alive and powerful in their lives.
Every person has to find out for themselves which one is the real one. We have as much time to find out as we have to live. For some it is the next ten minutes or less, for others it is twenty years from now, and for others much longer.
I think wisdom dictates that we find out which one is real prior to death because there is no decision available after we are dead. I have already found the answer. I hope you do too.

You are right when you say that only one religion can be true. In the search for truth you can ignore all religions that say that everybody is right because that answer makes no sense. It is impossible for everybody to be right when everybody believes different things that often contradict each other. I believe The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the one true religion. The only way to find the truth yourself is to continue searching and praying to God. God will let you know the truth by the power of the Holy Ghost. http://www.mormon.org/mormonorg/eng/

There is no true religion.
Belief in God and jesus is the only true religion.
Man is not smart enough to interpret the bible exactly.
But if the believers of any religion based on the bible followed 80 per-cent of what they are tought, the world would be a wonderfull place.
God didnt create religion, he gave his words...
Minus the fanatical cults, id say most religions are pretty close, considering not all of what they are taught is followed 100 per-cent anyway...

Well, first off. I can understand asking in a forum like this to get alot of ideas to look. But I am pretty sure you won't get a definite answer here. You will have to do alot of reasearch and try to find one that can answer the questions you have in a way that sattisfies you. One that can explain its answers instead of just saying " this is the true religion because we say so. It will take some hard work but if your truely want to find it, talk to God and don't give up.

Do you really think you would get an answer like that. people would boast about their own religion obviously. All the religions lead you to one path...GOD. Why do we need to have this competition? Because of this issue many wars and civilization have been slaughtered. Just keep peace around you and others

Which religion is the only true religion? Among the thousands across the span of time, not one of them, sir, not a single, solitary one.

Religion is the problen if you haven't figured that out by now, no disrespect intended.
People need to stop looking for religion and just need to "practice" what Jesus taught.
If we would all do this, this world could possibly live in peace.

James 1:27: Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Religion as we have created is imperfect because we as humans are imperfect. The religion that James speaks of is the only one that God truly recognizes. The rest of the religions of the world are only our interpretations and subject to the same.
