I believe that what separates philosophy from religion is mythology. Religion has it, philosophy doesn't. There are no myths in Atheism. It needs a myth to be a religion.
Still, it doesn't qualify as a philosophy either. It does not claim a specific belief, but simply a lack of belief in a specific philosophy (disbelief in the existence of a deity of some kind)

I am a Christian, and have never stated that atheism is a religion. In fact, atheism, by its very definition, indicates the lack of all theism or belief. Atheists do not worship a deity or deities, and therefore are not members of a religious group. Who said that Christianity is not a religion? It's considered by any serious academic sources to be one of the major world religions. As for your other statements, I don't subscribe to any of the theories that you've listed in your question.

To me, Christianity has always been about a person (Jesus Christ) and a relationship with Him. Rather than a religion per se. It has never been about doing good as religions claim, although being a Christian naturally leads to good works.
I'd say that Atheism is not a religion either, it doesn't believe in a higher power and as such it can be described as simply a belief.

aethism is not a religion, the earth is much older than 6000 yrs according to Christians, demons can't create any disease they can only confuse people's minds, exorcism doesn't work, islamic beliefs in the Koran teach them to kill anyone who is not islmaic (it is they who are intolerant), everyone in America supports freedom of religion, except for a small number of people who have personal chip on their shoulder, we don't have all the answers, but a lot of religious people and people in general are very emotional and too lazy to do their homework to understand what it means to be a Christian, so they resort to one liners and popular statements, its very sad, but true. God bless the few of us who are educated enough to be able to explain this to you fully. I hope this answer helps you, take care.

Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary describes "religion" as : "a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith."
Atheism is also a religion and involves a lot of faith. There are a lot of evidences against those millions of years yet Atheists embrace with great faith the evolutionist theory.

What's even funnier is that they whine about being the most persecuted religion in America (which they definitely are NOT), all the while saying that Christianity is not a religion, it's a "way of life" or a "relationship with God."

I'm not 100% on what your asking, but i'll say this, people are stupid... all people everywhere, this is magnifed 100X on the web, where tempers run high, you can be who you want when you want, and on one had you can have all these relationships but on the other, your only really garunteed this last post,
so the fact that people claiming a faith or no faith or whatever say foolish things says more about the nature of people and less that of God

These are the beliefs of the people concerned.
**Note that I didn't make out that Christians as a whole see it this way.**
A lot of Christians are evidence in itself of Christianity allowing freedom of religion, although I'd contest the word 'alone' in that.
The rest of it is BS in my belief, although I would still put credibility to it, only in the fact that these people choose to believe this way, and it is not my place to say they are wrong.
One day they might learn that they can no longer hold these beliefs. Same goes for you and me, we may one day change our beliefs for something we agree with more.

A lot of Christian Newbys think they have all the answers.
It took me until I was 45 years old to understand that I don't know all the answers.

Hey - I remembered the title of that book: "Who Needs a Superhero?" By H. Brewer. Compares Jesus to Hulk, Superman, Wonder Woman, Iron Man, etc. Great read. Just remember - ignore the "Jesus was a real superhero while the others werent".
