One who is more open-minded is one who is willing to consider a wider range of ideas before adopting beliefs. With this in mind, isn't it obvious that creationists are more open-minded than evolutionists?

Their beliefs are not governed by things like logic and evidence, and the science they believe is not based on things like predictive power or inference to the best explanation. Evolutionists, on the other hand, rely on evidence and logic before adopting their beliefs and thus are not open to illogical or unsubstantiated beliefs, whereas creationists are.

Doesn't that show that Creationists are more open-minded?

The derivative books of the old testament are in my humble opinion memories of the epics of creation from the Tigris Euphrates river basin. Some say these myths were carved into 6 tablets and were known to the early Ibri (Hebrews).
I believe that there might be something to the theories of Zechariah Sitchen who says proto humans were helped along by a non terrestrial hominid race who needed cheap slave labor to extract mineral and other resources from this planet.

The earlier a holy scripture of a society was written the more it tends to support the postulate humans were in some way created. I believe some of our actions are divinely inspired and even that the God of all gods suspends the laws of reality if it serves the delicate balance of space and time, matter and antimatter, being and nonbeing. I am neither a strict linear evolutionist or a complete adherent to literal interpretations of creation. My science and spirituality are not enemies, science is HOW God makes the when, the where, and the beginnings of the who. But that leaves why, is it love? I pray so.

Being open minded has to do with only one thing. The ability to look at ones beliefs no matter how strong , and be willing to say maybe I'm wrong, let me find out more. It's about being willing to change your mind in light of new evidence. How that new evidence presents itself is unimportant. Being open minded is about allowing for the possible truth of that evidence no matter what it's source. Even if the philosophy of that source is contrary to deeply held beliefs.
So to answer the question:
Creationists and Evolutionists are equally closed minded because both insist they got it right, and the other is wrong.

Lets think about this:

Creationists: GOD DID IT. PERIOD. End of Story.

Evolutionists: Actually, we never said how life ended up on earth, only how life EVOLVED on earth. And, what do we find, but every "prediction" that can be made from evolution is factual. But, our understanding has changed and morphed since the idea was "invented" by Darwin.

Yeah, Creationists are NOT open minded whatsoever.

oh sure, creationists are more open minded to what their religious leaders tell them, rather than think on their own. they won't consider logical or substantiated beliefs. they say they are absolutely right, and they have no need to look at any more information.

the theory of evolution itself is more "open minded" that creationists... it will take any new evidence that is found. it's willing to change, whereas chreationism is "written in stone" so to speak.

btw, creationism answers the "why"; evolution the "how"... they aren't terribly parallel...

Actually, when you do more and more research you will find out that it takes more faith to believe in evolution than it does to believe in God.Why?Because evolution has no sustenance.Creationists and evolutionists alike have the very same earth to work with. The very same evidence.Who's interpretation that holds up to scrutiny is the winner. It's a battle of worldviews, and not science vs. religion.Regardless of what you have been told, say biology for instance, would not be hindered in any way if evolution was never mentioned.
Creationists and evolutionists both start at two different axioms(presuppositions). If a person is only told about one side of it,then the person will only believe in one side of it.Critical thinking should be pushed regardless of what it's about. It will teach people to think for themselves instead of just taking something a priori(blind faith).

You are deluding yourself. The fact is mainstream scientific principles and understandings of the natural world harbour almost infinately more knowledge than the pathetic and narrow minded creationist dogmas..
The very reason creationists avoid the scientific understandings of the world is that they are too hard for them fathom, where their infantile and childlike creationist concepts are more easy for them to conceptualise.
Creationists are living a lie, and their denial, ignorance and scientific illiteracy will be their undoing..
They are bad people with political clout in the USA.. Charming..

To make your accusations applause would be to consider that they actually do think things through and are willing to confer with the evidence. You stated that "One who is more open-minded is one who is willing to consider a wider range of ideas before adopting beliefs." IN 99.9% of creationist Adopt beliefs first ( or more specifically read the bible in which they believe) and have or try to make science and the world around them agree to the statements. Now i wanna state that i disagree agree with your view of "One who is more open-minded is one who is willing to consider a wider range of ideas before adopting beliefs." because it is our beliefs that drive us to understand the world around us. So i wanna rephrase your statement of open-mindedness and state " One you has adopted beliefs and is willing to consider a wider range of ideas"..Is what being open minded is all about

No.

Evolutionists are far more likely to change their opinion if presented with an alternate possibility. Creationists will simply try and block any other form of thinking to limit their opinion as the only one.

Open minded isn't believing without hard data...it's adaptability and acceptance of a wide variety of solutions.

But Creationism is a one-way ticket. Things only happened a certain way. Which means Creationists are unwilling to accept any other thought process.

How is that open-minded again?
