My siblings and I have agreed to take over our parents finances and health care before it gets to a point that they don't understand. But, I have a horrible feeling that we are doing something wrong. My parents are freely giving it over, and my siblings and I have a really wonderful relationship. I just feel so guilty... WHY? I haven't done anything wrong.

Guilty? You should feel honored that they willingly gave you their financial control.

Unless you say 'No' to them, (remember it is still their money), you have absolutely nothing to feel guilty about.

If you and your sister have a great relationship, that makes it even easier. Take a deep breath, and help your parents enjoy their twilight years>>>

If your parents are freely giving it over, don't feel bad. I've been trying to get my daughter to go with me to see a Lawyer and have my house put in her name. Of course I don't know your circumstance's but as for me , I don't have hospital insurance. But I rather see my kids get what I've worked hard for and not the state. I'm in my early 50"s and trying to get this done before it's too late. Good for You.

Your parent's must realize it's time. Be Thankful

It's so hard to be the guardian over your parents. I know guilt takes over when you think you are compromising their dignity. Sounds to me like everything is working well, I wish you and your siblings luck. Try not to feel guilty, talk with your siblings about how you feel, maybe that will help.

Remember that you are taking this decision BEFORE your parents don't understand. They do understand now. You may feel that you are overstepping your rights and responsibilities, whereas; you are just making some timely and wise actions.

Try very hard to make sure no one talks down to your parents, or usurps their authority, and you will be doing your best.

If you do your best, and you still feel guilty, you could see a counsellor to examine your feelings.

Warmest regards,
