Do you realize how twisted it is to call someone a "homophobe" ? It implies that the person who says homosexual behavior is wrong is actually the one with the problem, or the "phobia". A "phobia" is a fear of something, and I can tell you this; I have no fear of homosexuals. I also have no fear of the political-correctness-nazis who tell me I have to tolerate their behavior. I say this unequivically: Homosexual activity is depraved, immoral, and a violation of both the natural and the divine law. I have no phobia about them, and I have no fear of speaking the truth.

I agree

While I disagree with your veracity and seeming intolerance, I do believe that we as human beings are not powerless to overcome behavioral tendencies or dispositions.

I choose not be an ax murderer. I choose not to molest children. I choose not to live in New Jersey (just a statement, no offense please). I choose not to be a county music fan. I choose not to eat sweets and chocolate. Now I have always had a tendency to love chocolate and have done so in the past, and I know that continued eating while not be good for my health; I now choose not to do it anymore.

If certain behavior is not healthy or goes against a productive life, I can choose not to do it.

To say we cannot control our own behavior is to be misinformed and irrational. Of course we can control our own behavior. It takes will power, self control and determination. And yes, it may even take morality. Certain behaviors can be immoral. It is immoral to say I have a tendency to murder people and cannot stop myself because I was born that way. Behavior is a choice.

I do believe that there is a distinct and huge difference between a behavior and a person. They are not the same. They are distinct. It is a behavior to murder, but the person is still a human being and should be considered as such.

Have I been too obtuse?

divine law: this means nothing to me, or US law, thanks.
You do have a phobia of homosexuals, which is in fact so great, that their continued existence is a problem for you. I don't care if you think it is depraved, immoral, no one is forcing you to turn gay or take it up the *ss. So what is your problem? Maybe one day when you get to "heaven" (which I don't believe exists) there won't be any there in your happy little mind. Until then, I exist, you are just going to have to deal with it. Your version of the truth is a bit clouded by hatred.

And I say that homosexual activity is NOT depraved, immoral or a violation of what you call "natural and the divine law." The difference between our two views is that, given the opportunity, I bet you would like to see homosexuals shunned by society, or maybe even imprisoned or worse. That's why your point of view is hateful and dangerous, plain and simple. I think the term "homophobe" is actually polite.

the root -phobia, although derived from the Greek word for fear, also carries the meaning of "hating" or "incompatible with," such as hydrophobic molecules which are insoluble in water. So we are not talking fear here, we are talking hatred and/or loathing.

perhaps you need to get out of the closet for some fresh air a little more often.

A phobia is an *ureasonable* fear of something and you seem to fill that qualification.
Do you realize that ancient Roman records prove Jesus was gay and the Apostles were all homosexuals except for Mary Magdalene, who was a lesbian prostitute.
Now you know why none of them ever married or had kids.

And I have no fear of speaking the truth either. YOU are depraved, immoral, and a violation of both the natural and the divine law. I also have no fear of you.

I wouldn't call you a homophobe, just an obnoxious hater who has no tolerance for other human beings. I would call you a disgrace, a traitor, a biased soul, a fool, etc.

I think you get the idea.

Who made you God to say the things these people do are wrong? Since when is your little theory "truth"? I don't say my theory is truth, either, but that doesn't mean you're any better.

That's fantastic! I agree that I have no fear of "political-correctness-nazis," who tell ME I have to tolerate your behavior either. Is there such thing as a religionphobe or to be correct: cantstandclosedmindednesswho- thinkthattheirreligionisthe- onlywaytoliveinthisworldphobia?

i fail to see a question here... if you don't identify as a homophobe (people fear what they don't understand), that's ok. it doesn't change the facts about you, the hate that you hold onto with tight fists. maybe hate is all you know, maybe someone brainwashed you at a young age - i would imagine its a safe bet that you grew up with a strong christian background...

maybe you don't have any gay friends, which is your loss. but you do like gay people -- you just don't know they are gay. they are your doctors, postal workers, grocers, police officers, dog trainers, priests, pastors and nuns. we're everywhere. we are dentists and we are surgeons - we save the lives of worthless scum like you, even. we are astronauts, lawyers, painters, wrestlers, truck drivers, teachers and business owners.

you have shaken our hands, laughed with us, conversed with us, and given us your money and business. you may have fallen in love with one of us unknowingly.

there is time to grow up. that's the good news. you can reject the label homophobe, but bigots are bigots. no matter what name they pick or put down.

A homophobe is someone with an aversion to homosexuals (which you clearly do) not necessarily a fear of them.

And your worrying so much about what two other adults do in their sex life definitely means that YOU are the one with the problem.
