if you don't know what to get, don't get one. don't hurry into getting a tattoo just cause you feel like it, they're permanent. think it out. think of something that means something to you, instead of just some generic idea you got off an internet forum.

First you need to know what you want. Then decide where to get it. Then you'll want to find a tattooist in your area who you can discuss things like cost with. Most tattooists will be willing to talk to you about getting a tattoo with no pressure to either get one or get one right away. If the person you are talking to is pushing to make money, run, don't walk away from that shop.
If you are looking for inspiration, hit some tattoo shops and ask to look at artist portfolios. You might see something you like or something that inspires you to pick what you want. Be absolutly sure that you want that tattoo on your body.

Getting a tattoo is a very personal decision and as I have said before, nobody here not even myself can tell you where or what to get. This is going on your body, permanently. So ultimately it has to be your decision alone. You know where you can hide it, now you need to figure out what to get. Look at some tattoo sites, even at your local parlor for ideas. I'm just not comfortable giving out this type of advice.

If you are not 100% sure what you want AND 100% sure where you want it, don't get a tattoo until you are. I have a number of them, and because I followed the simple advice above I have no regrets about any of them (even now that I'm middle age and it's been about a decade since I got my last one).

no one is going to be able to tell you a general cost. It REALLY depends on what you're getting (number of colors, size, place, intricacy of design, etc). A lot of shops charge a minimum of $50 for any tattoo work done and work up from there. If you don't know what you want or where you want it, i'd wait to get one!

Put it on your back. It should be a dragon that's breathing fire and holding a sign that says "I leave my major life decisions up to anonymous strangers on the internet!" in Chinese.
