Good old fashion soap in the shower will do the trick. I use a liquid soap that I get at GNC...it is a pure peppermint oil soap. It comes in an ugly blue bottle, but the soap is awesome. It's named Dr. Bronners, and it totally cuts all the oil on my face. Since peppermint is a natural antibiotic, it not only strips all the oil off, but also helps prevent acne. It is a little expensive, about 8 bucks for 16 ounces, but it is a concentrated soap and all you need is a dash on a washcloth to cover your whole body. It totally rules.

Neutrogena "Clear Pore" oil-controlling astringent (salicylic acid 2%) works great for most of my patients. It basically is a chemical peel (albeit a very weak one) and that's how the skin is unclogged and pretty much smoother with regular usage. Don't use it with Rein-a though if your doctor prescribe it. So basically this prevents future acne--since it keeps the pores from clogging up. Doesn't do much for your current zits. I spiked mine with 5 cc of 30% SA so I use it weekly as a chemical peel. :-) Proactiv is merely benzoyl peroxide lotion. No need to spend that sort of money. Just get over-the-counter 5% BP lotion / cream. If your acne is beyond what these can do, you need to see your doctor so you can be properly prescribe antibiotic / stronger cream / lotion (or get a referral to a dermatologist).

A mild soap and water. Ivory is very good..unless you've got dry skin, then I'd recommend Oil of Olay or Dove.

Drink a lot of water and limit intake of sweets. Getting facial twice a month will also help.

well you have to use soap and water i guess, since you've ruled out all other skin care products.

You can try using antibacterial soap, but if you have a regimen that is working I would not mess with it.
