The fact is that the world population has doubled every 40 years. Around 160 years ago there were 1/16th as many people in the world as there are today, and it goes without saying that the global environment was much healthier then.

No one could deny the current massive amounts of habitat destruction, species extinction, and environmental damage as a direct result of unchecked human population growth and the huge and unsustainable energy requirements of the western world.

The christian fundies would have you believe that there's room for many billions more people in this world, but they don't consider the environment anything more than there for the taking, to be harvested mercelessly, where no other species of life is worthy of gods consideration, unlike themselves of course.

These people truly don't care about the future, or the state of the environment, as they believe they have access to eternal life, so why bother with any details.. How destructive and selfish is that..?

The world population is expected to double again within 50 years. That's another 6 billion people..

Do you really want that..? I don't, and neither do the species and environments that are still left..

I am a Christian, and have publicly spoken out about the dangers of overpopulation. I feel that it is a very important issue. I am serious enough in my beliefs on this point that I have resolved to never have children of my own. I am a strong advocate of adoption, as opposed to rampant, uncontrolled breeding.

God did no longer create evil. God created suitable beings with whom he wanted to have a relationship. so as to have a genuine relationship, their love and worship could desire to be freely chosen, no longer pressured. This loose will opens the door for some to choose for evil, which some did. because of the fact the commencing place of God's government is love, he's permitting the "loose decision" test to run its direction, as an occasion to the universe if issues paintings extra sensible under his administration or under the administration of evil. while all and sundry interior the universe knows previous a shadow of a doubt that God's way is maximum suitable, he will wreck people who chosen evil, like excising a cancerous tumor to maintain a individual's life.

Your question is worded as if to present Christians as the #1 offender of increasing population. How about taking the words "christian fundies" out of your sentence and replacing it with the name of the group of people with the largest families, highest populations, etc.

How destructive is to make a blanket statement about Christians or any group for that matter?

Well actually, with proper resource management, and more efficient methods of energy production, the earth could easily support an even greater number of people, comfortably and with little threat to the natural environment.

I am a Christian, and I am very against people having more than 2 kids. If they want more, why don't they adopt? There are millions of orphaned kids in the world!

I do not think it is true of christians more than any one else. if you are talking of catholics ahving large families so do muslims and many in the developing world. I am sure most christians are at least as concerened about their children environment as none christians.
