I heard from a Christian on this site that the majority of Christians throughout the entire history of Christianity have believed this. They believe you don't have to accept Jesus to get in.

Jesus is the Only way to Heaven, only by his passion, death, and resurrection can the whole of humanity be saved. I also trust in God's mercy and his fair justice of those of other religions. God bless.

I'm not sure what kind of Christians have responded to you but you can only get into heaven by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior and repent. There is one other way, if for some reason you have not been exposed to the good news of Jesus Christ then you will be judged based on the kind of person you were on earth. (It's in Revelations)

Christians believe that Jesus is THE sure path...HE gave us directions on how to live. If we follow HIS path, we can get into Heaven. But, we also believe that The Father is the same God as the God of Abraham. Abraham believed and God made His covenant with him. If Abraham could be saved without knowing Jesus, we should also be able to conclude that by following God, so can others also be saved.

I haven't read that being said by anybody. And what history are you relying on? Certainly it wasn't the history involving the Inquisitions. And certainly it wasn't during the time of the Gospel in it's early stages.

So I guess it would help us to know what you are talking about if you supplied a source.

Because I am looking at you kinda funny right now.

Haven't seen that myself. Maybe I should look harder. Actually, that's not a biblical concept. People, according to scripture, must come to the Father by Jesus. Followers of Christ, by definition, are Christians so non-christians, by definition, would be those who do not follow Christ.

I don't know how any Christian who has read the Bible would think that you don't have to believe in Jesus to get into Heaven. Can you please give examples of what you are talking about?

Well...not exactly sure about that! I do know that unless you truly accept Christ as your personal savior, you cannot get into heaven! Even if a person has sinned their whole life and never accepted Christ...even when they are on their deathbed and at that moment before they pass away, if that person accepts Christ whole-heartedly, they will go to heaven.

No, not really. In Dante's Divine Comedy (sometimes known as the Inferno, but that's only one part of it), he deals with the idea of good people who lived before Christ and therefore couldn't get into heaven. That was written in the early 1300s.

I'm not sure if that's correct, though I do think that the majority today believe that. It's official Catholic doctrine, so there's most of Christianity right there.

I think part of the confusion is that anyone can say they are a Christian. Lots of people say they are Christian just because they live in America or something.

Jesus said Himself that he was the only way, so I don't know where he/she got that information.
