I've always had this discomfort since high school, not sure but i think I may have put too much strain on my lower back when doing seated hack squats but now, when I am bending over to get things when working or such like laundry, sometimes on occasions it will hurt to where it feels tender, and the pain is right next to my tailbone and it seems like I'm straining my lliac ridge above my hip bone, its the same place everytime. But today I was picking up clothes and sorting sutff out and I picked up one landry basket, then when I picked up the other basket, this pulling electrical shock sensation went through my lower back like my muscle just totally gave out, and I didnt just drop my basket, I dropped to my knees, it was almost like lower lower back muscles totally gave out....Anyone have suggestions what I can do? I'd really like to get stuff done around my place, but now I have to almost not bend over at all. Well a warm bath help? Or heated pad?

Well its day 3, I acan walk better now, and bend over a little bit, but my back, even to sit down and change my son's diaper, I can't even bend over that much or stretch over, It's like my lower back is stiff as a board, but if I relax it a certain way it hurts in a couple of places on my higher part of my hip ridge. No money to go to the doctor.

You need to see your doctor, and he should prescribe pain pills or muscle relater, all so put Ben gay pads on it, it helps.

If you are still able to drive, go to a chiropractor for immediate pain relief. Ask for X-Rays of your back to make sure you don't have any serious problems.

If you can't leave your house take some naproxen sodium (Aleve) for maximum pain relief without a prescription.

Next time keep your back straight and use your legs when lifting. Never bend over or twist your back when carrying heavy things.

Sounds like a pinched nerve. The only thing to cure it is time. Its very painful and I'm sorry you are suffering from it but you will have to be very careful from now on. Once you have it, it comes back intermittedly.

*P.S. You need to apply heat as often as you can. That will help the muscles and nerves relax
