I do not agree with the decision at all I called it a draw, but I could have seen a split decision. But not a unanimous one and surely not for Hopkins. Wright is not my favorite boxer by far. Jermain Taylor is but unlike his fight with Taylor. Winky should have complained alot more about this decision.

I dont agree with the decision. Wright was the one who was pressing the fight, landed more shots at a better percentage. He got tired in the later rounds, 10-12, but he won more rounds than the judges gave him credit for. Even if hopkins did win the fight unanimously, not by that much of a margin. I would have called it a draw... but thats just me.

I missed the pay per view and watched the replay, before that I read the articles about how Hopkins won.

I actually screamed at the television when I saw that bullsh*t. Hopkins pulled a page from Holyfield when he got older (look down and lunge..then grab). There was no boxing at all. Hopkins was in trouble early, and knew he was outskilled.

Then he went back to what he did best....cheat. I couldnt count how many headbutts I saw...how many times I watched him punch Winky on the hip. He had no choice to do that because a lighter guy was going to make him look stupid.

And Im sorry guys, you take about eleven or twelve headbutts and your punch stats will go down too.

Hopkins should have been DQd for that crap. If Golden Boy didnt have a say in the refs...he probably would have.

Larry Merchant, Harold Lederman, and Emmanuel Steward all agreed with you during the HBO free replay of the Hopkins - Wright fight before Baldomir - Forrest (which was a way better fight) last weekend. I agree with you also after watching Hopkins - Wright last weekend a couple of times. My unofficial, informal, score card had the boring fight a draw. It could easilly be scored for Wright who pressed and dominated the action and if Hopkins had any of the points deducted he should have for being dirty Wright would have clearly won, but there is no way to score that fight in favor of the hugging and butting of Hopkins.

I agree with you completely. I think Winky won the fight, but I could have lived with a draw. The scores were absolutely ridiculous, as is Hopkins. I respect what he's done in the past, but I have no respect for what he's doing these days. He fought dirty, he openly admitted that their pre-fight "brawl" was only to increase the box office, and he clearly did not do enough to win that fight. Hopkins used to be fun to watch, now he's a bore, and I've taken a vow to never see another fight of his again. He cannot retire soon enough.

Wright lost the fight. My biggest problem with Wright is that he cries and complains seemingly after every fight. In my opinion I though Taylor beat Wright 115-113 but I can understand why they said it was a draw. Wright was beating Taylor when he got him in the corner but Taylor destroyed him in the middle of the ring. With the Hopkins fight Bernard just did a little bit more to win the fight.

You are not the only one to be prejudice against Hopkins and hope anyone who fights him wins. Don't put me in those numbers though. He won the fight. Winky was ineffective in everything he did. He could not even jab and that is his best punch. I thought the scores were a little closer because I took some rounds away from Hopkins for holding so much but he won the fight based on effectiveness. He even beat your boy the first time around. So there!

I agree with you. I could've seen a draw, but unanimous, nah. Hopkins was clinching too much to be throwin' punches, that's what it looked like anyway. He did get off some shots, but they were'nt all that significant.

Hopkins easily won. The scores were on point. Hopkins dominated the power punching stats, while Wright's punches were extremely ineffective.

I agree with u 100%
Hop-man was not that great.
He was clinching often.
Winkey was the cleaner fighter.
But that is how the cookie crumbles with the judges. Who is to say its wrong.
Boxing matches are very suggestive.
If you like a particular boxer you will have a psychological judgement influenced by visual judgement
