If Jesus said, "no man comes to me expect the father draw him" then why do christians incessantly bible thump. The scriptures also say "the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness" ...

Doesn't that mean that christians waste their time and effort by preaching to those are aren't "saved" yet.?

Why don't they just live what Jesus taught and be "ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you" when the father does draw someone?

If you are implying that it is a waste of time to try to convince someone to be saved who doesn't want to hear, you have a point.

But the Bible also says that we are to see to it that at least everyone hears about the teachings of Jesus (Ezekiel 33:7-9; 2 Timothy 2:23-26). But if someone doesn't want to hear, well, that it clearly their problem.

The Christian Salvation message means you have to choose Jesus as an intermediary to God. I guess I am one of the unwashed. I was raised a pretty died in the wool lutheran dogmas. I tend toward the reverent agnostic view of deism at this juncture.

Truth is. I have a belief in a higher power who I choose to call God. I don't believe that hell is a place as much as it is a state of being and mind. You live with your actions. In the eastern sense of Karma. You are a product of your actions. (or inactions).

I've been to hell, it's over rated by the thumpers.

Let them pray for me. I have no doubt that the afterlife is not the sole venue of the biblical or koranic literalists. My grandfather was never baptized into the Christian faith yet I believe full well I will see him again in my next life.

That brings up the view of reincarnation. Literalists don't believe in the spirit continually opting to relive in form. I think in a sense we choose to rebirth.. Reborn in my view is through death and physical rebirth. Not some mojo in this life.

Sure, if you want to get to "Nirvana" or heaven or enlightenment, you need to be aware of your surroundings so you don't create bad karma. :D Don't step on that turd beetle it might be Mohammed.

The route to the divine is less like the eye of the needle and more like a broad river delta. each person has a tributary leading to the ocean.

If the unsaved person has a knowledge about the Father then it will help him/her in accepting His divine message through His Son Jesus.
