I think most insurance companies will just give you a percentage off from your rate. Like 10-15% Depends on what insurance you use.

Again, this depends on your insurance company. Most only accept Drivers Ed for deductions. Some States are trying to require Defensive Driving course to get your license.

In most cases a course that gives defensive driving and certifies you will be a plus to you with the insurance company. They will see that you have addressed your responsibility to driving. And that is the name of the game with insurance companies.
