Also think of a state that you might want to go to, search that state for all inclusive resorts best of luck to you!

I haven't really hear of any all inclusives in the United States. I thought those were primarily offered at island resorts. I've been to many...they're incredible! Get a map of the US and pick a location within an acceptable driving range....be it an hour away or six.... You could stay at an out of the way Bed and Breakfast or find something in the middle of a large city where you can walk everywhere. How about a train ride somewhere? There's a book my husband told me about called "Weird Pennsylvania". Maybe they have one for Michigan? There's also a book called 10000 Places to See Before You Die. Talks about places in the US as well as around the world. You're not getting married for a while...you can keep saving up in case what you decide to do will cost a little more, but $2000 is a decent amount. I'm sure you'll find something very nice to do.
My husband and I didn't go on a honeymoon right away because we wanted to save up for our dream vacation, but we did drive up to the New England area (we're from PA) for a week. It was a lot of miles on the car but it was a ton of fun!
Happy planning!

Why not just drive across the border to Canada. There are lots of fun and inexpensive things to do and places to go. No, I'm not getting a paycheque from our government to promote it but do know that although our dollars are almost equal there is still plenty to occupy you two here. I just married two months ago and we travelled out west but when we returned we took the 1000 Island Cruise, it's only about 5 hours and so you shouldn't get sea sick as the ship is quite big. It is pretty historical and lots of nice homes to witness on private island properties. There is also Niagara Falls and/or a nice trip to the northen part of our province has lots of sights to see. Best of luck and happy marriage also.

I have a gift card worth $1,200.00 dollars that you could buy and use to get a great week at a resort or hotel. I was looking to get $500 for it but will take any offers right now.
It is for www.asuiteweek.com
Click on Public Access towards the bottom and you can see everywhere they travel and how much the trip is.

Take the Amtrak train somewhere not too far. Chicago is good there's plenty to do year-round. Iowa has some casinos, Wisconsin has a ton of resort towns that are fun and romantic, not to mention the Dells if you want something fun.

You can drive to Chicago or The Lake of the Ozarks or St. Louis MO.
You can also have a romantic bed and breakfast getaway in a neaby town.
Good luck
