I'm trying to shed some extra pounds, especially in my mid-region, but I hate working my abs. Walking and running has always been the only exercising I could ever enjoy. I have very little weight to lose (I'm 5'8", 145 pounds), but I need to get rid of my spare tire. How often should I jog, and for how long?

jogging is fine but what is more effective is to use HIIT (high intensity interval training) on the treadmill. you will see faster fat loss with this method. basically, sprint as fast as you can for 1-3 minutes, then go down to a slow jog, then back up. you will be amazed at how much you sweat and how tiring it is. you can look up more about HIIT online. best of luck. also, diet helps a lot with spare tired, they need sugar, fat, and white carbs to stay inflated :)

Exercise or no exercise you won't be able to lose the weight if you don't cut your food intake but we all know that's pretty hard, right? A good appetite suppressant can help you out big time but it has to be natural or you can get into serious heath problems.

I lost 38 lbs in 2 months by using garcinia cambogia extract (FDA approved 100% natural). In my first month 26 and then 12 the second month. I was an emotional eater and these supplements changed my life. They act like an appetite suppressant so I didn't feel like eating anymore. Not hungry anymore -> Lower calories -> Lose weight, simple as that. I did no exercises just 20 minutes walks 5 days a week.

It's been 4 months since I lost the weight and I did not gain any pounds back, actually I lost another 5 lbs (I stop taking them after I lost the weight). If you want to take a look here is a website where you can find discounts: http://www.garciniacambogiapromo.com I got them 30% off from here. Hope this helps!

Ya when you go jogging your abdominals are the center of balance so they become stronger the more you jog/run/walk. If you are just going for building your abs then sprinting is better than jogging, but if you dont like that, jogging still works just it doesnt define your abs it just tones them. But you should jog about 5 days a week and work your way up to like three or four miles everyday.

It is good to have the practice of Jog as a part of like the Wrist watch or else Cell phone, why because even if you have taken very less content of any fatty item it will not be dissolved in the body and it gets accumulated and leads to increase in the weight.
So by practicing to jog 45 Minutes to one hour daily in the morning and evening by having any light and pleasant music will fetch good health for both the body and also to your Mind.

Wish you all the best.

Jogging is good exercise, except for the fact that it's hard on your knees and legs. Over time, it can actually cause damage to your joints resulting in having to get surgery done (I've got several friends that are in this situation). A better exercise would be speed walking as you still get a good cardio workout without the stress on the joints.
Also, since you are looking at mainly getting rid of the belly fat, it is a good idea to work the abs, as much as you hate doing abs workouts (I hate them too). If you don't care about having the sculpted abs, then regular workouts are fine since they'll tone down the fat in the region, but if you want the sculpted ab look, you'll have to do those crunches, or at least another form of ab work.
I personally love Pilates, especially on the mat. I've been doing them once a week for several months now (as well as lifting weights and regular cardio) and have seen a tremendous change in my body. The mat Pilates are easy enough that just about anyone can do them, but challenging enough that you'll leave out of the class tired. Plus, when I really push myself, my core muscles (the abs) are sore for days afterward, a great feeling to me!! There are many Pilates tapes you can rent or buy, but I prefer classes personally, I actually enjoy having the teacher walk around and helping out when I'm not pushing myself enough, or if I'm doing the moves wrong and they correct me. Pilates are killer ab workouts without feeling like you're doing crunches.

it is better to walk briskly or run rather than jog. Jogging is hard on the knees and ankle joints so could cause damage. walking the same distance as jogging burns up the same number of calories. Just uses more time. I would not recommend jogging at all.
