I hear that Vista will give you problems if you try to install your printer. Beside that, I haven't had any major issues with it..

When I bought my Dell E1505 in February, it came with pre-installed with vista. Its fine for me only because I have alot of memory on this laptop- I use this computer for everything (gaming, office functions, school work, etc) and I haven't had any problems.

Most people have had problems UPGRADING to vista on older computers or on those with little memory (it takes up alot of memory so keep that in mind).

If you're buying a new computer then you should get it with Vista. You can get whatever operating system you want but you might as well learn how to use this one. They said the same thing when XP came out....

There is nothing wrong with Vista, but if you wish to go back to XP you must first create a set of disks from your restore partition so that you don't loose Vista. To install XP you will need to format and remove all evidence of Vista. If you don't, Vista won't allow you to install an older version of Windows.

Personally, I have been running Vista since it first came out, and have had no problems. It does require some tweaking, but then, so does XP.

k it depends it is new so it will take a bit of time to work out the problems i heard in a couple of weeks there are spose to be some patches comming out to fix some problems....vista is somewhat like xp a bit more modern....i just got a new notebook with vista yesterday and yeah it is a bit of a trouble right now but i don't know how to work this stupid thing but i think it will be better for me in the future considering that in like a couple of years you might not be able to buy programs for xp but it is if u wanna have the new things then keep it vista but if you want what you already know then stick with xp

Vista is ok...i'm not very impressed with it actually...especially where Messenger is concerned...they're supposed to be getting a yahoo version for vista but it's taking forever and I'm stuck with no voice chat capability...have to use the old computer for that...

Vista is great if you're just starting out and don't have alot of programs already...because very little is compatible...ya know?

are you a gamer? do you use the latest programs from Adobe? like CS3? If so, then bypass Vista,

Try moving to a linux box, or a Macintosh. If you want to stay with windows, i'd stick with XP at the moment.

KEEP VISTA! ONCE YOU USE AND FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH IT AND SEE MOST OF THE BUGS ARE GONE, YOU WILL WONDER HOW YOU EVER MANAGERED TO PUT UP WITH XP. I HAVE PREMIUM AND MY HUSBAND HAS XP, I CANT STAND USING HIS COMPUTER EVEN TO SEARCH FOR SOMETHING.
AND AS SOON AS I UPGRADE HIS MEMORY TO 3GIGS HE IS GONNA HAVE IT TOO, XP IS OBSOLETE, SO DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON IT, JUST MAKE SURE YOUR NOTEBOOK HAS PLENTY OF RAM, THAT AND YOUR GRAPHICS CARD ARE THE KEY TO IT.
