Both and neither
God was ~created~ by more ~complex~ beings -- what makes humans more complex is the fact they actually exist; a nothing is simpler.
Now over the millenia the myths have gained complexity in details, so perhaps you could say God evolved

Nevertheless, you just shot yourself in the foot using the word "theory". You can't reason with theists when using a word like "theory", then they claim creationism is a "theory" too.
Neither religion nor science explains what was BEFORE the Big Bang. Both camps need to just accept that, for the time being, we don't have answers to some questions. Because you know what? You still have bills to pay, meals to fix, lawns to mow, etc. At the end of the day, the mundane aspects of daily life are more pressing matters and knowing what was BEFORE time, etc, doesn't help you with those things one iota.
If people could accept a little unknown without freaking out about it all, that would eliminate even having the breakdown in debates with the Achille's Heel of "theory" -- because no one would have created religion or be arguing in the first place. If the caveman didn't soil himself the first time he saw lightning, the world would be a better place today :)

Depending on the perspective taken, then time doesn't necessarily have a beginning.
And how would anyone really know about God? All that we can really go by is what is written, and it doesn't say that He was.
Additional: The Big Bang isn't current scientific theory. String theory isn't even current.
Time exists as a result of entropy and is basically a measurement of it. Without entropy time doesn't exist. Mass and space can exist without time.
Eternity can be either time unending or the absence of time uninterrupted.
The Universe is the totality of existence. Viewing time from this perspective, as it should be, then it doesn't actually have a beginning.

As a matter of fact, yes, He did (in our minds, at least). Being that polytheism predates monotheism, this one is fairly easy to support.
Besides, certain Names used in scripture (which I won't use here) are plural. Many biblical scholars attribute this to Judeo-Christian religions' historically drawing on concepts from earlier (polytheistic) religions.
Also, time only has a beginning from a certain perspective. Recent studies in physics are beginning to demonstrate that the perception of time is very subjective. Check out a physicist named Cramer at UBC. Time is just another spatial dimension that we experience in a certain way.
Edit: Beyontzika, the age-old riddle of the hen and the egg was solved a year or two ago. The solution goes like this: If a kangaroo layed an egg and a chicken hatched from it, wouldn't that be a chicken egg and not a kangaroo egg? Thus, the egg came first.
Edit II: It hasn't been so long (relatively speaking) since it was accepted scientific theory that the Sun revolved around Earth.

A truly Supreme Being would not evolve from simpler gods. Also we do not know if time has a beginning, it could be an endless loop that repeats unchanging, or even changing depending on one's position in the loop. The truth is not something we'll comprehend in our lifetimes, perhaps afterward, but I bet that will have its own mysteries.

God evolved from simpler minds. Curiously, the evolution of the mind is inversely proportional to the evolution of god. In other words, as the mind evolved, the status of god diminished.

I think God is the beginning.....the very very beginning. I don't know what God is though, but I think God stands for the beginning of time.
