I wouldn't say they are selling better by a long shot. Only two years ago, they had about a 2% market share worldwide. Last year, according to AI and ZDNet, that bloomed to about 3.6%. This year, one can only speculate.. maybe 5% at best? Still, that's 1 in 20 computers worldwide made by Apple.

That said, Apple's penetration into consumer electronics has garnered a lot of new Mac users, as well as their switch to Intel processors (just like most PCs). However, sales for ALL PCs are up, so Apple is really just keeping its growth at a pace with the rest of the PC manufacturers.

same reason windows sold better in the early 90's

marketing

but now people are starting to see the benefit of a mac than a pc, now software is developing more rapidly, then the world will be ours

plus we make a better product. you pc people have quantity over quality. yes it is easier to upgrade a pc than a mac, cuz we have a superior hardware. anyone can go to a junk yard and get a lexus emblem and put it on their ford focus

good question.

I figure alot of people and companies would be moving away from vista due to its lack of legacy support, forcing people to upgrade hardware.

but I though mac/apple was just as if not more propritery.
(it is linux based though so maybe thats a reason)
