Good question.
God gave us free will, but imposed certain laws too, such as "As ye mete, so it is meted unto you" like a law of karma.
So, I would say ultimately God has control, but free will allows us to do what we want. The priviledge comes with a responsibility, because you will feel the effects of how you treat others.

Some One Asked a Question to a Pious Person, what is the duration of your life?
He replied:
I just breath out and do not know whether I could breath in. and that is the only duration of life I have for sure.
My Life is under ultimate control of God.
Some one might say I will commit Suicide to end my life whenever I wanted to.
Well, again that is in the knowledge of God too.
Many a times suicide cases are not successful.
God Almighty the Creator has Control over Its Creation. If not He cannot be called as Almighty.

That's like asking who has ultimate control: shark or minnow? Okay, don't take that analogy too far. My point is this. God is ultimately in control of everything, but he leaves us with the freedom to have a loving relationship with Him. We in our fallen nature make poor choices. God sent Christ to fix the problem. We appropriate His grace through faith which is simply trust in what God did; we believe it works. From that point on, life must be lived in service to Him, not out of compulsion, but out of gratitude for His grace. The greater the gratitude, the greater the love for God, the greater the degree we place our lives in His hand, under His control. Christ did so perfectly. Read Philippians 2.

I do. Even for those of you who believe in God, that's basically the concept of free will. Ultimate control and ultimate responsibility.

you have the control, god is not real and even if he was, do you really want to be controled by something other than you? i dont. people think that their lives are so great because they pray and god is the savior, which is the most retarded thing a person can say. i dont believe in god and my life couldnt get any better. him, or the thought of him, has no effect over anyone. its all in your head.

God has the ultimate control over my heart and mind, but my carnal existance has the ultimate control over my flesh. I and everyone are alike, and that's why were all sinners......Romans 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity (Moral depravity), not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope.....Psalms39:5 Behold, Thou has made my days as a handbreadth, and my age as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity (morally depraved). GOD is the one who decides when we return to his kingdom ultimately however he also gave us 'free-will' and as a result of that humans have control over their actions and thoughts that dictate what directions our lives will take.
Great Question!

You do because all God can do supposedly is influence your decisions but in the end, you are the one making all the choices. But I don't believe in God anyway so I have control.
