After i bought the car I found out it has a lienholder. The car company came and repossessed it. I contacted the seller and he gave a check for the amount I paid. The check has no funds. I need help suing this crook. If i take a lawyer is gonna end up taking the whole thing. Please anybody familiar with procedures of suing somebody in Los angeles. I have never been in a court before please i need help from a to z. What kind of documnets i need to fill out. Please help....Thanks

You can sue for the court costs, cost of the attorney, lost wages, AND the cost of the check.

I don't know what the laws are in CA but in a lot of places your local District Attorney's office can help you collect a bad check or check with your clerk of court about small claims court or filing a judgment against them. I would check with those 2.

File a complaint with District Attorney. Passing a bad check is illegal. If he is facing jail time, he may come up with the money.
