The best home remedy for dry feet is to pack on alot of cream, slip your feet in socks, and wear the socks while you sleep. It gives the skin contact with the softeners in the cream the whole time you are sleeping. Wipe or wash off any excess in the morning.

I have heard the thing about "generously apply vaseline or other lotion on your feet and put on clean cotton socks and sleep that way" or the like. But I want to know, how do you put the socks on without rubbing off the lotion?

This has never worked for me! If I try it, my feet end up dry as ever in the morning. I have to use plastic grocery bags after I put the lotion on and then cover them up with socks so I can walk if need be and hold them on.

I have heard that my feet have to breathe, but can anyone tell me WHY my method is so terrible?

I guess I have to do this as long as I want to wear flip flops or sandals, I can't stand shoes and socks unless it's cold outside.

Any info would be very helpful! But know you know what I do. I hope this helps somebody.

Feet mask, with lavender. (from Avon Cosmetics)
Each night you should sleep with a pair of cotton socks and put highly hydrating lotion on your feet before putting the socks.
Use a ponce and some feet scrub also from Avon.
U can use Scholl products too if you can find them in your area, there are awesome for feet care.
Good Luck!

Here are some product options for dry feet.
1) Shea Butter
2) Eucerin Cream or generic
3) Baby ointment A & D ointment generic if possible

If you think you have athletes foot then you need to get an antifungal cream. Clotrimazole is one good active ingredient.

put vaseline on feet, then wrap in a plastic bag, like a grocery bag then put socks over the feet, the socks make feet warm to open pores so vaseline can work, but the bags prevent the socks from soaking in the lotion so it gets in feet and not in socks.

Lotions like Eucerin, Lubriderm work great. I also recall as a kid that my mom's heels were so dry they would crack. She would have me rub Vaseline on them, then she would put on a pair of clean white socks. Doing this on a regular basis helped cure the problem.

Good luck !!! :o)

After soaking and scrubbing feet,

put vaseline on your feet every night before you go to bed. Be careful with vaseline during the day, your feet may be slippery if you wear sandles.

I know this sounds really strange but put lotion on your feet before bed...but don't rub it in. Then put socks on, it feels weird at first....but it works so good by the next day your feet get really soft. Hope I helped =)

Pumice stone. Once they occur, you can use a pumice stone daily to gently decrease the thick and flaky layer of skin.
Wear closed-back shoes. Avoid going barefoot or wearing open-backed shoes, sandals or shoes with thin soles. Shoes with strong shock absorption can help to improve the condition.
Paraffin wax for cracked heels. Melt paraffin wax; mix it with little mustard oil and apply on the affected area. Leave it overnight. After 10 or 15 days, your heels will become smooth.
Coconut oil and warm water. For cracked heals massage the foot with coconut oil and keep the foot in warm (not hot) water for some time. Wipe the water off the feet and apply a mixture of hibiscus flower, and juice of half a lemon. When dry wash it off.
