You don't always have to be "clever" or a natural at something to succeed (except maybe pro sports) - usually you can succeed if you are willing to work hard and make the sacrifies that will get you to the top of your chosen profession.

You are half way there by actually WANTING to be good at it sweetheart! I wish you would talk to my 13 year old son and pass on that enthusiasm. English is a great subject because you don't have to be super clever, just have a lively mind and be prepared to think things through. Journalism is all about listening to people and observing and being accurate and truthful believe it or not. Read, read, read...especially some of the decent papers like The Independent and novels, biographies alike. Does your school have a student newsletter or paper...if not ,why not approach your teacher about starting one, the more practice and experience you get now the easier it will be later on. Listen to your teachers especially as regards essay writing, always have introduction, tell the story, conclusion! Please don't compare yourself with your classmates, what is in your head and what you want to achieve is the most important thing and don't let anyone put you off! Oh and don't believe what they say about spelling not being important!! Good luck.

No body is required to be clever or super intelligent to succeed in life. You have to find out your talents and develop them.If you want to be a journalist, you must have good knowledge in English.Join some good English course.Read good books and keep in touch with contemporary events and read news papers.Observe your place, school, relatives etc closely.Write down them in a book.Keen observation is essential for a journalist.Watch TV News invariably..If you can afford a journalism course(writers bureau or so) through correspondence or on-line join.Seek the guidance of your parents or teachers. You are not inferior to any body. You have chosen your career now itself shows you are intelligent.Good Luck.

If you have an interest in it, that will come through in your work any way so try to stop competing against you classmates. Just do your best, work hard and you will do well. If journalism is something you want to do, then why not write for your school newspaper or a local publication?

Just be yourself, don't feel pressure to compete with your classmates. Everyone has different strengths and if this is something you want, than go for it. I would also suggest to read as much literature as possible. Reading helps add more to your vocabulary. Good Luck!
