My younger brother has already done 1 tour in Iraq and will be heading back there in January. I just feel that people forget what these soldiers sacrafice each and everyday for our safety and beliefs. I just wanted to start this so we can give some words of encouragement to all serving in the United States military. I cant express in words the amount of respect I have for each and every one of you. God Bless!!!!!!!

The work the American soldiers have done in Iraq & Afghanistan, staying away from your families for 1yr in hostile situations is commendable. My opinion on how the nation is run has never over-rided the sacrifices and tremendous courage shown by the soldiers in testing situations

I SALUTE EVERY SOLDIER OF THE US ARMY. YOU GUYS ARE THE REASON PEOPLE LIKE US CAN SIT AT HOME AND WRITE THESE ANSWERS. KUDOS TO YOU

My man is getting ready to come home after being over in Iraq 18 months, it's been a hard long road but coming to an end soon. I also have a son serving in the Air Force, my dad and step dad both retired from the US Army, and my ex husband served during the first gulf war. The military has been an important part of my life since I was a child. I so appreciate the sacrifices that have been made for my family to be safe. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU for serving your country.

Hahahahahaha.... The thought of my husband joining the military and going to war because of the "pay" makes me laugh uncontrollably. People have no idea how LITTLE we get payed. My husband, as an E-3, makes less than 30,000 a year including all of his allowances and such. I can honestly and whole-heartedly say that his pay has nothing to do with it. Relocating their families to Iraq? Are you insane?! Why would anyone bring their spouse and children with them to a war zone? My husband was 26.5 years old when he decided to join the military. He wasn't "the youth of America", so please don't generalize all men and women who join the military as such. All kinds of people from all walks of life decide to serve the military for different reasons. None of those reasons are any of your business either. Its an incredibly personal decision that should be respected. What is your real question anyway? Do you really want to know why people serve in the military or are you just voicing your opposition of the war? People need to realize that those two things do not go hand-in-hand. Yes, the war sucks and I don't like anything about it. It doesn't change the fact that I will always support and respect our troops though.

I agree! My nephew did 2 tours in Iraq.

God Bless our Troops! The are not the reason for this war, and any political issues need to be separated from their bravery and service.

We appreciate their sacrifice and their bravery. We pray for them every day and hope they all come home safely.

From an Army wife, thank you.

My husband is preparing for his 3rd tour. Many friends have been as well. It's a rough road. I don't support the president, but I will always support the soldiers for what they do.

We love you guys!

I, too, am very thankful for their service. I think of them and pray for them everyday, especially while watching my children play. I truely believe that because of them my children are allowed to keep their childhood and innocence by keeping the violence over seas. I thank them personally whenever I see them and will continue to do so.
