Yes, that's definately scary in my opinion.
That said, there are a lot of things that people believe, say, or do within their religion, culture, belief system, lifestyle, or whatever, that scare me. I'm sure that I do some things and say some things that scare other people too.
I think that one of the reasons that we can't seem to get along with others is becasue we try to assimilate their values into what we believe, and sometimes that just doesn't work.
If members of PK choose to accept the punishment for their wrongdoings, then that is their choice. I know little about Promise Keepers, but if I'm not mistaken, it is voluntary. I seriously doubt that the law would allow some of these punishments, but hey, stranger things have happened.
We each live by our own set of values, and each have faith, trust, or belief in different things. In some cultures, it is perfectly acceptable to have sexual relations with family members. In our culture, this is taboo, and is considered an act of perversion. We cannot expect others to accept our societal norms and our values, just as we cannot be expected to understand others'. We just jave to accept that people are different, or just ignore it. Personally, I'm the curious sort, and though I cannot follow some beliefs and/or practices, I find it interesting to learn why others do.

The core beliefs of the Promise Keepers, outlined in the Seven Promises, consist of the following:
1. A Promise Keeper is committed to honoring Jesus Christ through worship, prayer and obedience to God's Word in the power of the Holy Spirit.
2. A Promise Keeper is committed to pursuing vital relationships with a few other men, understanding that he needs brothers to help him keep his promises.
3. A Promise Keeper is committed to practicing spiritual, moral, ethical and sexual purity.
4. A Promise Keeper is committed to building strong marriages and families through love, protection and Biblical values.
5. A Promise Keeper is committed to supporting the mission of his church by honoring and praying for his pastor and by actively giving his time and resources.
6. A Promise Keeper is committed to reaching beyond any racial and denominational barriers to demonstrate the power of Biblical unity.
7. A Promise Keeper is committed to influencing his world, being obedient to the Great Commandment (Mark 12:30-31) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).
See, if it wasn't for the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th beliefs; I could probably be a Promise Keeper. And only if "vital relationships" in the 2nd belief doesn't mean anything creepy. So I guess that answer isn't all that bad. I also didn't really read the answer.

The scariest thing I've seen all day is that we had a power outage at my office for 3 1/2 hours and we didn't get sent home for the day.

This is what is called harassment of another participant, if you can't take the answers to a question then don't ask it, this only makes you look weak and pathetic and the scariest thing I've seen all day.

That person is a troll, well-known here in R&S. He parades around with a few other names as well, such as Chosen By God. You will get used to seeing his repulsive answers. You can choose to block him, as some do, or just ignore him.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, no matter how ignernt.
I know that guy's answer is scary, but just remember: fundamentalism is curable. With enough prayer and maybe shock treatment and aversion therapy, maybe that poor perverted soul can be saved.
Amen.
