Me an my wife have been seperated for two months and I have been thinking about joining the military (Air Force) I know that right now the gov. would still consider us married and that if I where to join I would have to get certain information from her but we don't talk to each other. So the only way to get in is to get legally seperated or divorced as far as I know, however you have to be a resident of virginia for six months before they will grant a divorce. So I guess that really only leaves one option Legal Seperation so my question is ..
1. How long and complicated of a proccess is that?
2. does this negate her elligiblaty of benefits?
3. Will this make my enrollment proccess easier?

Getting a legal separation will not necessarily negate her benefits, just as divorce in many cases only negates some of the benefits. You do not need to be either to join. You need to talk to your local recruiter to get all the facts.

Here is some HUGE advice for you. Get a divorce in ANY OTHER STATE besides VA. VA screws men especially military men if you become one. Ask any guy you know that lives there. do a lot of research and then try another state.
If you are not from VA try you state of birth or NV. Getting yourself to NV will be cheaper than anything the state of VA will end up doing to you. NV will be fast too. Get a new plan.

like the others said...get divorced first. And yes, you must be a virginia resident for 6 months but also, in virginia, your legal separation starts the day you file for divorce and you must be legally separated for 12 months before a day in court. so you would be required to support her till divorce final.

the military doesn't recognize a Legal separation. you are either married, or not.

failing to inform the military that you have a dependent is grounds for Fraudulent Enlistment.. and if she were to find out you enlisted, she could cause a whole lotta trouble for you, as she would be eligible for all benefits that dependents are entitled to.
