I agree with the others. A picture is worth a thousand words. Also, by bringing the pic. you can make sure your stylist know EXACTLY what you want (incase she may not remember her hair in the movie, so you don't need to explain it to her)

I agree with the others that taking a good photo is the best way to convey to your stylist exactly what you want. However, I would add that before any cutting begins you should discuss with your stylist frankly and realistically whether he/she understands how that look was achieved. You should also discuss whether that cut is compatible with the nature of your hair and the shape of your face. Even then, be fully aware that the exact same cut will never look exactly the same on two different people. It may require some fine tuning to make it most appropriate to you, either during the initial cut or in subsequent visits.

i always take a picture in with me to show the stylist, but I've also found that taking a friend in helps too. The sylist will be more careful because they're being observed, and your friend can see whats going on behind you and help guide the stylist to cut it the way you want.
