I absolutely cannot understand these women who carry a fetus to term and then murder it. Why didn't you use birth control? Uh, well, using birth control is a sin. OK, why didn't you get an abortion? Uh, well, abortion is a sin too? Oh, I see, so you had no choice but to take the fetus to term and then murder it? Perhaps you could have given it up for adoption? Or is that a sin too?

Someone will really have to explain this to me. Apparently there is a large segment of the Christian population that thinks murder is not a sin?

I have never heard of a Jewish mother murdering her newborn infant. It really seems to be a Christian preoccupation...

The conflict comes from society teaching that a baby in the womb is not human and, therefore, supposedly has no rights. It's hard for anyone to logically understand how personhood can change just because of a change of location. Therefore, it doesn't seem as real killing a child after they've been born.

If one is a Christian, then they should know, both by Scripture & the sense God gave you, that a baby is a person, whether in the womb or out.

Adoption is not a sin. Adoption was prevalent in the Bible.

For some reason people think christians are supposed to be "perfect".....my God they are human!!!! A christian is just someone who believes in christ and follows his teachings...they are not people who sin not, and never get tempted, and never lie ,and always make the right choices, and do the right thing. Personally I am a christian and would never have an abortion..but you must consider a person's circumstance..what if a girl was raped and got pregnant?...what if she knows that if she has this baby her family will disown her a nd she'll have no place to go..yeah yeah I know there are places you can drop a baby off and shelters for pregnant teens , but for many girls it isn't that simple...have you ever been put in the position where you cotemplate having an abortion????Only God can judge....

i am so confused by your confusing set of assumptions... who are these people that say it's morally or ethically acceptable to give birth and then kill the baby? is that what you are asking?

as far as "sin", this is just a word that has meaning to those who claim judeo-christian beliefs. the catholic faith (just catholic, not protestant, like baptist, presbyterian, etc.) is ANTI birth control, as in the pill, condoms, etc.

no christian or catholic belief states that giving a child up for adoption is a sin. catholics and christians alike believe that abortion is a sin. well -- let's clear one thing up. NOT ALL catholics and NOT ALL christians believe the same things. i'm only talking about what the overall view by "The Church" is. there are many christians that have differing beliefs about gay folks, birth control, abortion, etc.

Here's an interesting tidbit though! You are CORRECT my friend when you mention that a segment of the christian population thinks murder is not a sin -- the majority of Christians are PRO DEATH PENALTY, meanwhile screaming that they are "pro life!!!!"

yes. it doesnt make sense.

There is an especially large portion of society that doesn't think a fetus is a "person"; so, abortion is not "murder" since murder involves killing something that is alive which is why abortions are legal. The scientific proof is that a fetus cannot live on its own outside the womb and is essentially a parasite since it requires the nutrients of the mother carrying it. Consequently, since a fetus is not a "human"...yet...it can't be killed because its really not alive.

your correct in what you say in the literal term. however you are not seeing this froma human point of view, woman that find themselves pregnant in a multitude of different circumstances and are forced to make extremley difficult descisions about their own and anothers life. some lives are ruined during the process and continuing for years after .
so before we put everybody into one catagory , lets take a moment and think . each and every decsion is deeply personal and the conclusion not easy to come by.
for any grouping of any kind . religion faith et cetera all its members need to learn tolerance of the others.
i was adopted at birth and am speaking from a position i have more than pondered.

A large segment of the Christain population believe murder is a sin, it's one of the ten commandments, I don't know why you would assume that a large group of them think that because you know of one or two or three or however many kill the fetus.

Taking birth control is not a sin, who ever told you that needs to talk to a priest. Yes abortion is a sin in the eyes of our father and so is murder, vengeance belongs to the lord and no one else, that's why Canada does not have the death penalty. God created you and only he can decide when you go home to him, the reason is seldomly ever his. If you read your bible, one of the ten commandments states "thou shall not kill".

And, why are you singling out Christians? There is always someone in every religions where the views of that person are distorted.... so please do not generalize based on 1, 2 or 10 situations. I AM A CHRISTIAN AND MURDER IS A SIN, and ABORTION IS MURDER!

What made you think it wasn't?
I don't believe in abortion but unfortunately todays society doesn't believe it being murder. Of course if the baby is wanted, its murder. Isn't that the silliest thing you ever heard?
But I hope that those that have abortions are haunted by their decision until they know that it is against God's Truth.

I think women's rights seem's to have given 'ignorant' women a self righteous attitude. I agree with your comments...murder is a sin. And a large part of christianity is blind. How could they believe the teachings from the bible, when they don't practice true christian love.
