I'm getting a filling done at 3:30 today....Its a really small filling that I'm getting done and its only gonna take 30 minutes tops.....I was wondering if they will give me a shot to numb it because its really small......Your input is appreciated.....

It really depends on how deep the cavity is. In my expereince you get the shot no matter what. Once my dentist filled a small cavity without the shot and he was close to loosing a finger.

Just ask for it -you are the one paying for the service. I have to have my teeth numbed because I have a tendency to jump- My dentist don't like it when I jump !

If the cavity doesn't go too deep into the tooth then they will not need to numb it.

Well if it is in one of your front teeth probably not since there aren't many nerves there, but if it is in a moral they will probably numb you.

they will probably give you just a local anstethic
