In domestic cats, 'urinary crystals' form (more in males than females because the females have a 'larger' urethra and can pass them more easily) when the cat is not getting enough of a 'trace mineral' that is not found in many of the 'dry catfoods' produced in this country. The mineral's name is KETAMINE ... so if you have a cat, please READ THE INGREDIENTS and see if there is any KETAMINE added to the 'dry stuff.' If it's not 'added' then please give your can a 'combination' of 1/2 dry food and 1/2 'canned food' since Ketamine is found in 'wet foods' naturally (it normally 'dries out' when dry food is made and dried, so it must be 'added' to make the pet food 'safe'.
Ketamine is an 'acid' ... so in answer to your 'homework' question ... the 'correct answer' is 'alkaline' ...

the word you are looking for is concentrated. if the cat is not getting enough water the urine will concentrate and form crystals, they may be acid or alkaline but the key is concentration.

Hmmm. sounds like you're taking a test or something. I don't like to GIVE answers, but here is a site you can read about the question you are asking. Read down where it is titled pH. You will read your correct answer there.
