You have some great questions Meatbot, but unfortunately you will never get an answer that you want to see. Every bible thumper/christian robot just read your question, and moved onto the next one......

See, the misunderstanding comes from the erroneous idea that there is a burning Hell where the souls of the wicked are tormented. No such thing exists and the idea is not supported in scripture.
It was the ultimate sacrifice because he allowed his only Son to be humiliated and executed, to be nonexistant for nearly three days, and then he resurrected him.
Oh, and BTW, the whole idea gets rather ridiculous when ppl claim that Jesus and God are 1 and the same. Just thought I'd put that out there.

Heaven is the presence of God, not just a bunch things made out of gold and big houses. Hell is the absolute absence of God, not necessarily lakes of fire. In hell there is no love, no joy, no peace because all of these things are what makes up who God is. So if God went to hell he would bring love, joy and peace and it would no longer be hell. Therefore it is not possible for God to cast himself into hell for all eternity because God Himself is heaven and God Himself is everlasting joy.
And in the Old Testament you sacrificed living animals to repent of your sins. It wasn't that you were sending animals to hell, it was the killing here on earth, that was tha sacrificial part of it. So therefore the ultimate sacrifice to repent of all sin in the world would be killing God in human flesh here on earth. Which is what Jesus was, God (or God's son) in human flesh being sacrificed here on earth.

Without the shedding of innocent blood, there is no remission of sin.
Did you know that Jesus was like the 1st Adam; body, soul & spirit & never sinned against God the Father. That He bore our sins on the cross. Even the worst of torturing an innocent person to death.
Since the wages of sin is death, & Jesus bore our sins & not his own sins, then death couldn't keep him in the grave. And Jesus took the keys to death & hell. So He raised up from the dead victorious over the death curse. So? He did this for us. Us who believe in Him will raise up like Him whole; body soul & spirit on resurrection day complete.
Jesus staying in hell wouldn't save anybody. There would be no victory for us over death & hell. Jesus is up high at the right hand of God with all authority given to Him in heaven & earth. And Jesus has authority over hell also by having the keys to death & hell.

The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are ONE God. The lamb was slain before the creation of the world. God is all knowing and knew man would sin and chose to be a savior for his people.
God who is perfect paid the penalty of death with his flesh for those who accept the atonement.
Hell is the grave and Jesus overcame sin and death for all who accept the atonement.

Interesting way to put it... but if God (the Son) was in Hell, it wouldn't be Hell (separation from God). Maybe He still feels the suffering of the lost. I guess Christians will find out all of that once we meet Him face-to-face.

i like those that believe jesus is god.
cause then they believe this being who has existed for eternity spent less then a spec of his existance on earth, being "tortured" and then to pretend to die for our sins.
amuses me how that can even be considered a sacrifice.
