My son has special needs and can not speak, so I do not even know he feels bad until he either starts crying or throws up. What can I do before or during a car ride to make him feel better? I am unsure if Dramamine is safe yet.

You can give Dramamine to a 2 year old, just 1/4th of a tablet. My daughter gets motion sickness and throws up in the car on long car rides so I just started giving it to her and it works great. There's a non-drowsy formula you can get, but I give her the regular kind and it does knock her out for the ride.

I had motion sickness bad as a kid. This might be worth a shot, if it doesn't work you haven't hurt anything.

It actually helped me to have eaten something an hour or so before a trip. Something light, like a sandwich, settling in my stomach kept the gasses in my stomach from expanding and therefore kept me from being sick. Unfortunately, we didn't discover this until I was about 12 years old.

Hope that helps, and if not, I hope you find something that does. :)

The drugstore carries some pressure point bracelets if he'll keep them on. They are by the dramamine, they are just wore on the wrist. I wore these on my honeymoon on the 8 hour plane ride, helicopter and boats. It really helps.

Keep him cool. Heat encourages motion sickness. Give him cool cloths (dampen them in cold water at home and stick them in a small cooler) and don't let him look outside the side window. Get a shade that not only blocks heat but vision and put it on the side window.

Good luck!
