I would say it's a similar situation to us and they feel the same way about what thier leader has done as we do about our previous PM Tony Bliar(sic)... because of his actions our Country has been categorised jointly along with USA.. yet, WHO elected our "leaders"....yup, Joe and Jane Public.. so who's to blame?
When we disagreed with Maggie and her poll tax, the people got together and she had to back down.
How millions marching on the streets of London didn't manage to sort Tony Bliar(sic) out is STILL beyond my comprehension...
So, I hope our new PM will
i)at least cut the ties that the world has in its mind about UK being just another State of USA for George W Bush (oops sorry,I was forgetting to be PC here.. I of course mean his civil servants and media moghuls who actually run the country...) to manipulate...,
ii) Find a way to have the world NOT tar us with the same brush...
I live in hope... but not holding my breath.. but I'm a fair person, so am prepared to give Gordon Brown 3 months to see if he CAN make a difference to our Status in the World arena, and restore the standing and respect that the world USED to have for UK.. he's our only hope POLITICALLY given the choice we have TODAY of the other Party leaders.... !!
Re WINGSHOOTER 08 above QUOTE "
Says who?...you? that's a laugh....you want hate...lets stop spending $480 Billion a year in Foreign Aide....Yeah baby...works for me! "
When USA "offers" Foreign Aid, you can bet your bottom $$$ it comes with SO many strings attatched that a person, Nation or Organisation COULD end up bankrupt within months or a couple of years because of the repayment scheme devised to benefit JUST USA !!!.. far too many examples to cite by way of fact !!
Re Satan'Attorney QUOTE" I couldn't care less what the rest of the world thinks of us because I know we have one of the best militaries in the world and we could conquer just about any other country. "
Hmm Vietnam springs to mind...as does AFGHANISTAN.. and even re Iraq USA HAD to ask NATO for help.... as they did for AFGHANISTAN - the REAL SOURCE of this recent terrorism conflict.. then once NATO turned up, they withdrew 77% of US troops and sent them to Iraq !!! easier to deal with oil than Afghan insurgents I suppose !
I apologise without reserve for that last comment of mine ppl, I guess truth does really hurt. HOWEVER, I TAKE NO RESPECT FROM ANY SERVICE PERSONNEL ON THE GROUND FOLLOWING ORDERS.. IT'S WHAT WE'RE TRAINED TO DO !.. be they political or military !
For this person to assume USA could conquer "any country" just goes to show WHY the world think and believe USA are the most hated country in the world !!
Isn't it ALWAYS a case of the majority have to suffer because of the minority? HO-HUM !
Re ASKER - QUOTE "DID I NOT SAY THIS IS NOT ANTI USA....
I dont hate you I like you you're my Buddy and It's not my opinon it's the Worlds...Fact."
Back your question up with links to your FACTS.. much easier when dealing with Americans who like FACTS... much simpler in the long run.... mind you, that would be taking away thier rattle, cos then they'll not have so much to argue about and prove they "are the best, and most loved country in the world" IF the comments above are anything to go by...

Funny you should ask. Why don't you ask the brits how they felt about being the most hated nation in the world when there was still a British Empire? Seems to me that history shows centuries of people dying all over the world (including in the US twice) due to the British trying to control the whole world and the colonies wanting independence.
While the protectorates of the US may want to complain about the US occupation they always back down when the US offers to move out and stop supporting their economy
I've noticed a lot of people blaming Bush for the US problems in the world, but it seems we had the same problems with Clinton. And we will continue to have problems after Bush leaves office.n Gee I wonder if the UK blames all its problems on Blair and how long before they start blaming Brown.

Well personally as an American I would have to say it makes me sad more than anything. Our country is by far the most powerful country in the world and that's definitely a fact. Our military alone is 10-20 years ahead of any other country in the world. And do we conquer countries because we have the firepower to do so? On the contrary we help everyone we can. We give hundreds of billions of dollars in aid and military support to devastated countries and what thanks do we get? For people to hate and despise us. If it wasn't for the US the world as we know it would be a drastically worse place than it is today. Let's just say all of Europe including England would be reading history books about how the great Hitler combined it all into one nation. Like I said it's a sad feeling to be hated by people who all you ever did to them was show love and kindness.

I do find it a bit troubling that America has a negative image in a large part of the world. Part of this is due to the foreign policies and part of it is just due to plain jealousy. America does do a lot of good around the world but this is overshadowed by the war in Iraq and the worlds preoccupation in their hatred of Mr. Bush, which reflects upon their view of Americans in general. As for Europeans view of Americans since the US has been a sovereign country, Europe has always looked down on America to one degree or another.
The one thing I would say is at least you know where the Americans stand, has anyone given China the same scrutiny that they give to the US. After all China is doing things in Africa with utter disregard to the people there. All in the name of getting resources, a bit unscrupulous I might say, they are certainly not doing to much good in Darfur, but they will make deals with Sudan to get access to resources there, how about Nigeria! But by the way the US could do more there but doing a lot more than the Chinese.

American citizens as a whole do not care. The only way to get other countries to like us is to be more like them but we have to be our selves. For some people they hate the President and it is just political for them. They hated the last President and they will hate the next. For being the most hated country in the world there are allot of people that die each year trying to get here. They come by the boat loads, cross open deserts, and fly in. If the flood of immigrants coming here is an indicator of how hated we are then it is not hate other countries are feeling, it is jealousy.

quote "
Nobody likes being hated. Find it rather amuzing that although we are hated or disliked by most, we are the first ones turned to when some other country needs help.
Tsunamis, earthquakes, mudslides, invaded by another country? We are the first ones to help with equipment, supplies, money and have never accepted or asked for anything in return. "
ask nothing in return my ***.
Best country in the world is canada.
Worst country is america simple. i hate the way the government works in the states i ask for nothing then invade countries. if u disagree with me then tell me what are the american STILL doing in iraq , qatar , bahrein , afganistan. If they want to be good people and help other do it but dont steal there belongings afterward. The american government is stealling so much petrol from iraq.
but the country america is amazing i love atlanta and florida and most people there are nice. i hope they elect a different president some1 that hate engaging wars.

Looked to me like they were having a pretty good time. I wish they would just write to the congressman though but I guess its a free country isn't it. It takes all kinds to make the world go around. They didn't have a very good turn out. I don't tend to get too upset with this stuff because the majority of Americans, regardless of their party, wouldn't go to these things or wear clothing that might be considered anti-American. Why call them out and give them more attention? Oh, I did see a topless woman. Not sure what that is supposed to signify.

Smear campaigns by national & international predominantly liberal/Left leaning journalists and media organizations have contributed to this image.
I think this question can be answered best by this question:
If America were the most hated nation in the world then why don’t we have an emigration problem instead of an immigration problem?
Doesn’t Michael Moore kind of wonder why if Cuba and their socialized healthcare system is so great, did I onboard the USS Ashland during the Cuban refugee crisis of 92-94 pick up so many dehydrated, shark bitten, sunburned rafters and look into so many of those peoples eyes and see the horror of the failure of that nations sick leader the liberal/Left here in America so love?
And on and on and on…

They are not the most hated by far. The world would be a much worse place without our American mates. Are you saying countries like Iran, Pakistan, Russia, N Korea (and plenty more) are MORE liked ?????

Is this a proven fact or something you heard on the news? My contention would be that only our enemies really hate us. Funny how the countries that are so anti- America are the first ones to beg for our help when they have a crisis. Hmmmm, wonder why that might be...........
