I have a friend who is a Jehovah Witness, but is currently not practicing. She has went through a bad breakup, and other things in her life are not the way she would like them to be. She went to some spirit mediums and they gave her false hope and made her more depressed. She confessed to me recently that she has actually prayed to Satan several times begging him to bring her ex back to her and give her the life she desperately wants. Nothing has happened to her, her prayers were not answered and now she is angry at Satan. She says she wants to do right, but wants to do wrong more and figured Satan would help her. I am very worried about her and have urged her to talk to the elders but she won't, she is too embarrassed. I myself am a Jehovah Witness too, but have been inactive for years & am trying to get my life back on track. I am unsure what to do. What should I do??? She needs help and I do not feel qualified to give it to her.

I'm sorry to hear about that. There doesn't seem to be too much you can do except what you have been doing. Remind her that Satan doesn't want her to be happy, why would he? He doesn't care about humans at all. His only goal before the end is to take as many people away from Jehovah as he can. And so far your friend is letting him win. So Satan has already gotten what he wanted from your friend.

Remind her also that no matter what she has done, she can still approach the elders. They have probably dealt with worse issues and will not belittle her! They will help her get back on tract spiritually. Encourage her to pray to Jehovah too! He will give her the strength needed to come back as well (Luke 15:7) And you can pray for her too!

I'm glad you are also trying hard to 'get your life back on track'. Much love my sister!

If someone is not apostate, why refer a spiritually sick person seeking help to apostate websites?

It is incorrect to say that "the JW's teach that Satanism is tantamount to Apostasy and unforgivable...this is why she is so lost...she believes that she can not come before God for forgiveness." This is simply not true.

The inactive Questioner and her friend should, indeed, contact the local elders. These spiritually mature men can render the needed assistance, in a Scriptural, loving, and compassionate manner.

You have to let them stand up and walk out of the mud hole before you help them otherwise you will become dirty too.
Clean up your own life first will mean that you will have to cut your association off with her as you work towards rebuilding a clean relationship with Jehovah.
By doing this, she may see the need to come clean up and come back too.
But you have to leave that in Jehovah's hands.

*reads twice to make sure that wasn't imagination*

Good grief, that's serious stuff!

Pray fervently for her and yourself. Perhaps you can 'reactivate' and will be in a better position to help. Keep suggesting that she go to the elders and pray to Jehovah herself. Insist that she abandon everything occult and stop praying to Satan. Encourage her to start attending meetings again.

The questioner should immediately begin praying for wisdom and strength for herself, and should begin acting in harmony with her prayers. The very real danger is that the questioner will rely on human wisdom and personal opinion as she guesses how best to handle a matter that affects worship of God and Christ.

(Jeremiah 10:23-24) To earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step. Correct me, O Jehovah

(Mark 9:23-24) Jesus said to him: “That expression, ‘If you can’! Why, all things can be to one if one has faith.” Immediately crying out, the father of the young child was saying: “I have faith! Help me out where I need faith!”

(Matthew 15:22-28) Phoenician woman from those regions came out and cried aloud, saying: “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David. My daughter is badly demonized.” [Jesus] said: “I was not sent forth to any but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25 When the woman came she began doing obeisance to him, saying: “Lord, help me!” 26 In answer he said: “It is not right to take the bread of the children and throw it to little dogs.” 27 She said: “Yes, Lord; but really the little dogs do eat of the crumbs falling from the table of their masters.” 28 Then Jesus said in reply to her: “O woman, great is your faith; let it happen to you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed from that hour on.

The questioner must also recognize that the interfaith actions of her former friend have already disassociated the friend from the Christian congregation, even if that has not been formalized by any particular congregation. If the friend has no interest in 'calling the older men' (that is, congregation elders) to work with her to regain her spiritual health, they cannot provide the metaphorical "oil" of bible encouragement.

(James 5:13-15) Is there anyone suffering evil among you? Let him carry on prayer. ...Is there anyone [spiritually] sick among you? Let him call the older men of the congregation to him, and let them pray over him, [metaphorically] greasing him with oil in the name of Jehovah. And the prayer of faith will make the indisposed one well

Dee:

Neither of you are on the right path...Believe it or not, both of you are headed to Satan...Pray for God to show you truth and start Questioning what you were fed and from whom.....Your Friend is in dire trouble and God will show her the way out if she asks for truth to be revealed......

Why do the JW's
not tell the truth...If you are a JW and you turn to Satanism it IS considered apostasy.......

I was suicidal as a witness and God lifted me out of that...i am not an apostate..i am trying to turn you away from Satan and to the Lord......

http://silentlambs.org

I will
pray for you and your friend....maybe some day you will be sisters in Christ....

I would not recommend that your friend go to the elders for advice in that the JW's teach that Satanism is tantamount to Apostasy and unforgivable...this is why she is so lost...she believes that she can not come before God for forgiveness...This is not true God forgives ALL sins...Be careful who you proceed....

bar_enosh...Don't judge what you do not know....the name calling is getting a little old!......thank you for removing the mane calling parts of your answer......admit that if a practicing Witness turns to satanism, that would be Apostacy in the WBTS eyes.....you bet it would...why don't you tell the truth?

Well if your friend is serious about getting her life back together, and if you are serious about getting your life back together, and you really want to help your friend, then the both of you need to stay away from that ridiculous cult of the Watchtower and get some sense pounded into your heads.
There is no Satan.
There is no God.
There is nothing to be saved from.
Get an education, learn about how the world really works, and get on with your life.
