What did people like Bruce Lee/Dan Gable do for weight lifting, and how often?

I mean I've heard, everyday, every other day.

But what about how many hours do they work on a certain body function? 3 hours, I know it depends on the exercise though but I mean in general.

And, what you think is better, just the good old fashioned body weight exercises or adding a little weight lifting and all.

Hey best answer gets best answer, even though all of you deserve best answer. Thanks.

I go to the gym 6 days a week, most weeks. For 2/2.5 hours

I train with light weights for resistance, 70/90 #'s for my upper body and more for lower body.

I alternate my routine. Mon. Wed. Fri. I work upper body and abs. Tues.Thur. Sat. I work lower body and do 1 hour of cardio each of those days.

I am 68 years old and do this to keep my joints moving and heart going. I'm not into building muscle at this point in my life

Bruce Lee didn't use weights. He used himself. You just need to find a program that fits your body type. IE.. experiment with workouts because there are so many workouts out there. Try crossfit.com and discussfitness.com. They should be able to help.

when you start out, every other day for an hour. as you get more muscle, more often and longer is OK. just don't do too much too soon or you can hurt yourself. every other day to begin with because you tear your muscles a little bit when you lift the weights and you have to let them heal.
