Praying for anyone is commendable. If you know that God the Father is who Jesus was sent by then to pray to another is counterproductive and provocative. King David in Psalm 5:3 records, My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.

The Ten Commandments Thou shalt have no other Gods before me. That's for starters and if you ask me thats a strong enough warning without having to take another step. The Lord thy God is a Jealous God . He is not happy when you love satan, budda or whoever you think is more god than God is. Try this useful tool... www.blueletterbible.com. Open the Bible and dig into it and you will see, He prohibits you to pray to anyone or thing but Him!!!!! Check out this Church ...www.calvarychapel.com and ask, ask, ask, questions.

Prayer is the most personal form of worship.

Worship is to be directed only to God.

The command is to pray to God, thru his Son.

Asking in the name of Jesus is not praying to Jesus.

Jesus said no one comes to the Father except thru me.

He is the Way to God, or the road to God, but if you never get off the road to anywhere, you still aren't 'there'.

He is the gate to God, in the wall separating us from God.
If we stop at the gate, will we enter yard?

Stephen at his death didn't pray to Jesus but saw him in a vision, and talked to him, the way he had while Jesus was alive, the same as John saw Jesus in the Revelation.

When God told Moses to build the Ark of the convanent, he also had the commandment already given to him, to make no image representing anything in heaven or on earth. But then God told him while building the Ark of the covenant to make two images of Angels to go on top of the Ark.
We pray to Angels and Saints to ask their help as one family - one Mystical Body in Christ. God wants us to pray and keep praying for, to, and with the family of the Church.

Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Exo 23:24 Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.
Jdg 2:19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.
