That quote/question from Friedrich Nietzsche, but still applies. Which one do you think? Why would God create humans, seems like either a mistake to make us flawed or we are an experiment (which would makes sense). Also why would God create the world and humans if not for an experiment or his ego and humor?

Stand-up Philisopher: God did not create, my parents did. Since you obviously think you were created by God, does that mean you are a God or demi-God?

djmantx: God is supposedly perfect, therefore the initial strokes, just like all are "PERFECT"! So quit making stuff up, either he/she/it is perfect or not, and if not then not a God.

Steve: Do we were designed to be flawed? So what was the purpose besides and experiment or to entertain him? No other reason for God to create a flawed being to just watch and wait till he ends it. Can you actually understand this? Think outside of the box.

Dan: You are right......the building of the nuclear bomb and destroying our environment is the sign of advanced species. As opposed to the other primates who also use simple tools and live with their environment and not against as humans do. And humans destroy each other, etc. You are right we are so advanced.

Nuch: So the perfect being God was bored and created humans. Does that not make you laugh as much as it makes me laugh? How can a perfect being be bored or lonely (which in fact are the same)? Answers like that always make me really question the metal process of theists, you are making that stuff up, since nobody was there at the beginning or has ever talked to God (if there was one). At least admit that you are pulling it out of your............well you what I am inferring.

Terry W: Why would a perfect being need to practise? What is it with theists that do not understand the words "perfect" or that God created "everything"? Get a dictionary, it helps out and quit trying to change the definitions of words.

If God existed (since I'm an Atheist,((an apatheist if that means anything to the people)) as my name implies) we would be a mistake, or an experiment. If God did NOT exist, then God is mans mistake, look how much blood was shed because of Him...sad really.

Well, that's a good question, but I don't think it has to be either/or. I think God was aware that humankind was not infallible, but I also think that God was not complete without someone to relate to. If you are talking the God of the Biblical Old Testament, and you look at all the animals he created, none of them were on the same plane of consciousness as he was. Obviously, there's something special about the human animal, seeing as how he is the only one to build advanced tools and actually wonder about the deeper questions in life. I think God needed to create something on that level of awareness so that he could have a loving relationship with something. I believe that something is us, for all our faults and flaws, all our shortcomings, I believe there is grace and love abundantly for mankind, and that everyone should seek out the truth for themselves with an open mind, as I have and as I continue to do.

To fully answer......we must define God. I do not see/feel God as defined in organized Christianity....my Creator, that I know, is so vast and expansive, a religion could not begin to contain him/her.

Flawed.....imperfect, not up to standard. I have a daughter, I do not view her as flawed or imperfect, although I had a hand in her creation, and even though she does things that I don't agree with.

I believe that all humans are children of our Creator. We are here to evolve into a higher level of spiritual development, and everyone is one a different level. This doesn't make us 'flawed' nor does it make us 'unworthy'.

This idea of humans being 'unworthy' or 'imperfect' has so permeated our society, that it affects our sense of identity and value.

I believe that concept of being 'imperfect' was employed by those fine gentlemen of Rome, who created organized Christianity, with the goal not of spiritual development, but of financial power and control. If the masses believe they are 'unworthy' or 'imperfect', they are much easier to manage and can be manipulated into believing all manner of lies for the profit of a few.

The true blunder here, would be man's limited definition and understanding of God and the refusal of many to try to expand their perspective, to gain more understanding.

Man created god.

If god did exist and he made man, then he is a very poor designer and has a nasty habit of wipping out his "experiments" which he himself would have designed. There is just no logic in the god hypothesis.

To have something to love that could love Him more perfectly than the angels. We are not a blunder, we have done exactly what we were designed to do. He's not a blunder of ours because we didn't create Him.

Neither..God is not finished with his creation yet. Would you call a Rembrandt flawed if it were the first strokes?

Edit No initial strokes are a perfect masterpeice we judge a creation on the finished product. Jesus is the creation God has in mind and is a perfect masterpeice.
