I work from 6pm to 12am. I want to change my hours to 3pm till 9pm. The reason being, is because I get depressed when everyones sleeping and im awake and vice versa. My husband is over in iraq and im feeling alone. But my boss will not take that for a valid reason. What do you think I should tell her why I want to get my scheduale changed? If i say im taking classes, shes the type that would want to see proof.

My heart goes out to you. I know the pain you have of missing your husband. My husband is now home. I still remember very clearly the emotions and pain I went through when he was gone. I started having panic attacks, I obsessed about watching the news, I was so sad all the time. I finally went and got some help and medication and it was so much better. I didn't have a very supportive boss either. He didn't understand that I wanted to take time off when my husband was home on leave or before he left etc. I fnally just put it out on the line. I told him that my health and my family comes first and I wish he would understand but if he didn't I should probably find a new job. Now I did this knowing that my HR department was behind me.
You just need to know that you need to take care of yourself. This experience changes your life forever. You have to be strong for when he comes home because it can be rough. Keep one thing in mind...the soldiers get the accomodations and medals but you deserve them too. We battle our own war back here at home.
Good luck!!!!

Speak the truth. Deception is known to backfire on you.

To gain some clout to your request, make a visit to your family Dr. or to a counselor. Bring in a written "Dr's Note" requesting a time change due to depression or other factor.

Be sure to make all your requests in writing, keeping a copy for yourself. This way you will retain proof if you need it later.

Once your request is made, do be understanding in that it may take a week or two before the boss is able to change the schedules around, moving someone else into your time slot.

I know you miss your husband. Hope he can come to be with you soon.

Let her know the truth like for an example "You know I love my job and I am happy to work here but staying awake all night and sleeping during the day is starting to effect me and with other personal issues like my husband in Iraq I really wish I could change my hours so I can get the sleep I need and function during the day." You could also compromise and change the hours like 1:00 PM to 11:00 pm.

Just stay honest. Go to the Doctor for your depression. Show her your proof from there. If you use a fib to get what your wanting, she will only look at it as an excuse. Stay honest, get your proof and this will show your an honest employee and your boss I'm sure will see the softer side. Good Luck to you.

Oh it somewhat is elementary. considering the fact that i replaced into as quickly as a chairman that still promoted my then lover to comptroller. She replaced into to blame for my pleasures, and desires. She in undemanding terms had to be available for any encounters that would desire to stand up in my place of work. She did this way of effective interest as my comptroller that I later married her. So do not hassle costly. you have got greater time now than formerly, so in basic terms save the boss happy and that i will proceed to respond to a number of your astounding questions.

A doctor could say it's damaging your health and causing adrenal fatigue. When I had that, my doctor said I had to go to sleep at 9:30pm.

If you have children tell her you dont have a babysitter for that time anymore . or just tell her it is personal reasons and it just has to be done. you can always go to a doctor and they will give you a note for her for that. they understand that sort of thing.
