Just killing Satan would prove nothing. Satan charged that God was a liar and not worthy of our worship, (Gen 3:4, 5) and that humans worship God for selfish reasons. (Job 2:4, 5) Wouldn't killing Satan on the spot make others wonder if he had a point? He let Satan live to try to prove that point.
And God let his son be killed because it was the only way to save mankind. Adam was a perfect man, and when he sinned he passed on imperfection to his offspring--us! The only was to redeem was to give a perfect human life in exchange. This was Jesus.

Because only a sinless man could redeam man. There was only one that was sinless, so in order to pay the sin debt, God became man, and in order to show the world how awful sin was became the sacrifice. God loved his Creation enough to die for them and give them eternal life with him, just like it was suppose to be before the fall of Adam and Eve. The example is the Cross of Christ thats our salvation. Satan is the prince of the world as it is today, and he will be destroyed. God knew Jesus could die on the Cross and pay for all of mans sins and then also rise again in 3 days and return to him, where he is now seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for you and me.

Romans5:18-19. God handed over authority of the earth to mankind Ps115:16, A perfect man was the need for salvation. He needed to come from somewhere other than the loins of Adam. The only one who offered to go was Jesus his Son. Jesus obeyed. God was faithful to himself and used a pure man. Gods only driving force was and is LOVE for you and I, John3:16. That example sets love for us. Satan was built for eternity. Casting out is destruction. He will destroy for eternity.
Hope u r enlightened! Nuch

i belive that God allowed Jesus to give his life to show how much we are loved let me give an example (hang on, gotta copy and paste)
What would you do?
It's a Wednesday night and you are at a church prayer meeting when somebody runs in from the parking lot yelling, "Turn on a radio, turn on a radio!"
And while the church listens to a little transistor radio with a
microphone stuck up to it, the announcement is made: "Two women are lying in a Long Island hospital dying from a 'mystery' flu." Within hours it seems, this thing just sweeps across the country. People are working around the clock trying to find an antidote. Nothing is working! California , Oregon , Arizona , Florida , Massachusetts. It's as though it's just sweeping in from the borders. And then, all of a sudden, the news comes out. The code has been broken. A cure can be found. A vaccine can be made. It's going to take the blood of somebody who hasn't been infected, and so, sure enough, all through the Midwest , through all those channels of emergency broadcasting, everyone is asked to do one simple thing: Go to your downtown hospital and have your blood type taken. That's all we ask of you. When you hear the sirens go off in your neighborhood, please make your way quickly, quietly, and safely to the hospitals. Sure enough, when you and your family get down there late on that Friday night, there is a long line, and they've got nurses and doctors coming out and pricking fingers and taking blood and putting labels on it. Your wife and your kids are out there, and they take your blood type and they say, "Wait here in the parking lot and if we call your name, you can be dismissed and go home." You stand around, scared, with your neighbors, wondering what in the world is going on and if this is the end of the world. Suddenly a young man comes running out of the hospital screaming. He's yelling a name and waving a clipboard. What? He yells it again! And your son tugs on your jacket and says , "Daddy, that's me." Before you know it, they have grabbed your boy Wait a minute! Hold on! And they say, "It's okay, his blood is clean. His blood is pure. We want to make sure he doesn't have the disease. We think he has got the right type." Five tense minutes later, out come the doctors and nurses, crying and hugging one another .. some are even laughing. It's the first time you have seen anybody laugh in a week, and an old doctor walks up to you and says, "Thank you, sir. Your son's blood type is perfect. It's clean, it is pure, and we can make the vaccine." As the word begins to spread all across that parking lot full of folks, people are screaming and praying and laughing and crying. Then the gray-haired doctor pulls you and your wife aside and says, "May we see you for moment? We didn't realize that the donor would be your son and we need ....... we need you to sign a consent form." You begin to sign and then you see that the number of pints of blood to be taken has been left blank. "H-how many pints?", you ask. And that is when the old doctor's smile fades and he says, "We had no idea it would be your son. We weren't prepared. I'm sor ry sir, we need it all!"
You stammer "But but .. You don't understand." The doctor then urges "We are talking about the world here. Please sign we need it all!"
"Bu t can't you give him a transfusion?"
"If we had clean blood we would. Can you sign? Would you sign?"
In numb silence, you do.
Then they say, "Would you like to have a moment with him before we begin?"
Can you walk back? Can you walk back to that room where he sits on a table saying, "Daddy? Mommy? What's going on?"
Can you take his hands and say, "Son, your mommy and I love you, and we would never ever let anything happen to you that didn't just have to be. Do you understand that?"
And when that old doctor comes back in and says, "I'm sorry,we've GOT to get started! People all over the world are dying.
Can you leave?"
Can you walk out while he is saying, "Daddy? Mommy? Daddy?
Why, why have you forsaken me?"
And then next week, when they have the ceremony to honor your son some folks sleep through it ... some folks don't even come
because they go to the lake or the seashore ...
some folks come with a pretentious smile and just "pretend"
to care. Would you want to jump up and say, "MY SON DIED FOR YOU!
DON'T YOU CARE?"
Is that what GOD wants to say? "MY SON DIED FOR YOU. DON'T YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I CARE?"
EDIT: WOW! that was longer than i thought!

God doesn't destroy Satan because he wants to give us free will to choose good or evil. Plus, the people who don't live their lives for God will spend eternity in hell, so he cannot destroy him. You cannot have good without evil because how then would you know the difference? God had his Son (an earthly part of himself) be killed so that we would know He understood what earthly pain was like and could relate to us. I feel that God felt He had to sacrifice his Son in order to feel the price was paid to redeem us.

Tell me by what other means salvation could be possible? The wages of sin is death. Sin makes one unholy and only what is holy can enter Heaven, and God's objective is to have us all with him. What other means, pray tell, would possibly be able to eternally remove the stain of sin from man? Wave a magic wand and make it all go away? Where's free will in that? Man could have not sinned, but we all chose to do it. Once we did, we hit rock bottom. What bridge could be built to span the gulf between God and man that sin creates?

God requires love and obedience to Him. He is righteous, holy, just, and sovereign. When man turned there back on Him, it was a perpetual downfall ever since, as nothing imperfect can create something perfect. You must be sinless to be in His presence. In Genesis 3:15, the first prophecy of Jesus is made. Now, could God have just snapped His fungers and said "s'all good". Sure, but I would have to ask why would He? We ourselves don't do that. We expect people to ask for forgiveness and we want it to be sincere and not just lip service. This requires us sacrificing our pride to say "I'm sorry". Well, the is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood. There is no blood as pure as God's Hisself in the form of Jesus Christ. That made the final sacrifice ever needed. We have to be willing to say we are sorry, repent of our sins, and accept God's saving grace through Jesus Christ. It's that "giving up your pride" thing I spoke of earlier. God could have created man as a robot that had no choice but to obey and love Him. That would have been great. But when you have a CHOICE (freewill) to choose to love and obey, and you do, that is so much more a special and more true love than to be made with no choice at all. That's why He created man that way, and then Adam and Eve messed it up for the rest of us.

Yes God could have created perfect beings without free will.
God chose to create us with a free will to choose him or follow a lie.
God foreknew that man would sin. The Bible says it is the reason the lamb was slain before the foundation of the world.
It was predestined. God chose to be a savior for his people.
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are not three separate God's they are one God who created the world and knew that his creation would sin. It was God's plan before creation to be a savior to his people.

I am intrigued. Although there are actually other issues involved besides the salvation of mankind, I wonder: can you please share how you feel an all-powerful god could have made our salvation possible without killing his son?
