I was wondering if the fish are biting at the sea and if there are any corvina showing up. I used to catch alot of fish from the salton sea from 1985 - 87 then the sea went dead for about seven years. By 1995 the fish started again but there size was small. By 1999 the fish reach the maximum size and I used to catch one and a half pound talapia and up to 15 pound corvina. I used to fill three ice chests a day. But the cycle started again and the fish hundreds of million of them died again. Since 2000 I havent gone to the sea. Has anyone went to the sea lately and if so what is the fishing condition over there.

Fishing report from 6/14/07 -

"SALTON SEA: Improved tilapia action off the state park beaches and at the headquarters jetty. Few reports, but those coming in have been pretty decent. Information: Red Hill Marina 760-348-2310, Salton Sea State Recreation Area ranger station 760-393-3052."

For what it's worth, the report from 7/19/07 says the exact same thing, word for word :-/

Really?! I saw something on PBS a while back about that ecological disaster, and I wouldn't want to run the risk of getting any of that water on me, personally. If there ~is~ a such thing as an even halfway decent fishing spot connected to that water, the only advice I have is not to eat anything that you catch.
