You receive awful service at a restaurant. How bad does it have to be before you will take the time to write a letter to the corporate office?

To write to corporate it would have to be extremely poor. I would first complain to the management at the restaurant. If they did not satisfy me at all, I would likely write corporate or just not come back.

If it was a health or safety issue and management did not respond adequately, I would definitely write corporate and likely the local health officials.

Since we are often quick to criticize but slow to praise, try to remember to tell management when things are particularly good and to write to corporate when you think the service, food, or other things about the business are exceptional.

Doing that helps ensure the place will remain a place you want to come back to often.

The way I see it, if you write to corporate, you are doing everyone a favor - maybe a favor they don't deserve...
If the service was that terrible, I wouldn't tell anyone, just let them bleed more and more customers until they are bankrupt. That is the best punishment. Perhaps you could tell other people not to go there, to expedite the restaurant's demise, and letters to the editor.

I would call eyewitness news before I would write a letter to a corporation.
Corporations make changes really fast when they get negative publicity.

two old ladies, 74 and 80, walked into an empty subway on Harding Avenue, Miami. The server got very impatient when we would not order fast enough. When I exclaimed, "Wait a minute," she got mad and chased us out of the restaurant. What if she were the manager? How do I report her to herself?
