Pretty much. Compare:
1 - you are expected to give up your free will to the "collective"
2 - independent thinking is HIGHLY frowned upon.
3 - They won't be satisfied until they have everyone.
4 - If you don't join willingly, you will join at gunpoint. If you still resist, you are an inferior life form and will be destroyed.
5 - As they swoop down, stealing you mind, body, and soul, they also take what parts of your culture that they like, and make it their own. They then have retrograde ownership of these cultural pieces, and you are emulating them, not the other way around.
My God Man! Gene Roddenberry was a genius.

How about the dominance of a few news channels governing tv or only having Republicans and Democrats to choose from in a presidential election.

Yes in a sense I do, and when this world is covered by a Theological Empire...there will only be a few of us left (Atheists) we were killed off by the Empire, and the rest of us gather and become the Rebellion, we fight with the Empire until they're nothing but dust, and then we raise the flag for the New Republic! WAHOO!!!

why don't you change that from, "christian" to "religious"? they are no worse than any of the other religions when it comes to assimilation, and turning people into zombies. Unless do you belong to another one of the "big 3"?

Let's see... Lack of independent thought, attempting to force all others to conform, arrogant belief that their way is superior and correct without any justification, resorting to violence when necessary to enforce their culture... yup - pretty much exactly the same.
