He barely answers. I wish I could know why. Am I overeacting or should I tell him to keep in contact more because I only see him once a week or less...

I'm going through the same damn thing. I have been with my b/f for 7 yrs. and he never answers his phone. Oh but let me do that and he blows a head gasket. So what I say to you is ask him why he hasn't been answering the phone. Also throw at him if the shoe was on the other foot and you did that to him how would he feel? What would he be thinking? Men sometimes don't understand what they be doing. If you throw the same situation at them; they'll get the hint. I don't know about you but when my b/f hasn't picked up, a bunch of things run through my head. Is he cheating? Is he hurt? Is he in jail? He is dead? I go nuts. So when I finally get in touch with him I keep cool. I am tired of aruging with him so I just ask why he wasn't picking up and I leave it alone. But I do sometimes not pick up my phone. He leaves all these messages and I just bust out laughing lmaoooo!!! See how it feels!!! Catch back is a mutha you know what. Take Care sweetie!!! Hang in there! Everything will work out some way some how.

Relationships are built on Communication, and when the people spend TIME together. If you only see him once a week, and he NEVER answers his phone, it would seem to me you are more in love with the IDEA of him rather than him. Go find a man willing to put the time and effort into building something REAL with you.

okay well i just got out of a realationship and this is just one of the things that i had to put up with how long have yall been going out?? if he aint answering i would personally say that hes not worth it! but you need to talk to him and ask him why he is avoiding you but if you cant get him to talk to you then move on you obviously deserve better

You are being mistreated. You are expected to commit to someone who hardly pays you any attention and barely acknowledges your existence? Tell him he starts answering your calls and actually paying you attention, or you can't continue the relationship- and follow through with it.
