A week ago i was stabbed by a gang on the chest! i was able to recognize some of the guys on the scene. can this be considered attemtive murder? and if i was threatened not to say something does the police really protect me? thanks

YES, this is attempted murder if this was for criminal or murderous intentions, as opposed to accidental. If you were to take this to the police, I'm positive the chief investigator will hire several officers to check on you while the gang is still at large. If not, then I agree with George M about the safe house, or they could put you in a Witness Protection Program. Good luck.

You'd have to research attempted murder laws in your area but I highly doubt it. At best it'll be assault with a deadly weapon.
Edit; you'd have to prove that the gang member was intentionally(knowingly, had malice foresight) trying to kill you for it to be considered attempted murder.

well they can be convicted of attempt of murder but as far as someone making a threat against you.....in my honorable state of michigan lol they have to carry out the threat so i could be dead and they would carry me to the morgue. so dont count on the police protecting you........they cant even protect us regular citizens from threats...so ya bad idea for you to think the police will care enough about your life. they care about you testifying against the person who did it thats it!!!!!.........if you are going to tell on someone like a gang memeber.....then you need to move.

Yes , and some times they will , and they won't , and then they will put you in a safe house , and guarded untill the trial go and talk to a lawyer about it ,ahd see what he has to say , and good luck my Friend I'll pray for you

well, first of all you need to file a police report for the crime to even be documented and a report submitted to the prosecutor's office. It is then up to the prosecutor as to what they will charge the person with, and if, indeed they are going to file charges.

I would emagine the officers you have dealt with regarding this horrible event. Would help you better. You should really ask them.

Of course, he STABBED you! Report that asshole immediately and have him locked up.
If he threatened you not to report this the cops will protect you.
