Usually you'd use a single cable with RCA connectors on each end. One end goes in the subwoofer output (LFE) on your receiver and the other goes into the input on the subwoofer. You plug the power cable from the sub into an outlet, set the volume and phase, and you're good to go.

If your system connects differently than that, you'd need to share more details about what you have so you can get a response more tailored to your specific situation.

Additional Info:
Since it isn't RCA connectors, you should connect it with regular speaker wire. From the main left and right outputs of your receiver, run wire to the "high-level" or "speaker-level" inputs on the sub. Then run another set of speaker wire from the "high-level" or "speaker-level" outputs on the sub to your main left and right speakers.

If that doesn't work, please share the brand/model info on the receiver/amp and subwoofer you're using.

Connect from your stereo to your speaker using two heavy AWG wires. If it sounds good, then don't mess with it. Sometimes it may be beneficial to place your woofer out of phase with other speakers in the system. In this case, try reversing the wires and see if you like that sound better. If so, leave it that way!
