I know many people think Iraq was a mistake - a majority of the country, according to polls. And many people say they support the war on terrorism but not Iraq.

But many of Bush's surveillance, detention and interrogation programs have been roundly criticized as well.

And even a bill protecting people who report suspicious activity to authorites from lawsuits was opposed by many Democrats.

So is there any specific measure that this administration has taken that Bush opponents think was a good idea?

This is a serious question, not a flippant one.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

I'm not really an opponent, but to complement Bush, he did take swift and firm action, even if it wasn't the best, and he has an iron will that won't be bent. It's too bad he can't lead the country in his direction.

It is a very difficult job, fighting terrorism. I'm by no means an expert on the subject.

I don't know of any policies that I can say have been right. The Patriot Act is debatable I guess. They did nail those guys in New Jersey some weeks back and they caught the number 1 or 2 guy in al qaeda a few times. And we haven't seen an attack on our soil since 9-11 so you have to give the FBI and CIA some credit there.

I can't say what Bush has done right in the war on terror. I think what has been done right the public won't hear about it until some years later. If something is working right now that is tracking terrorists I would assume they would keep it quiet so the terrorists don't know they are being wathced.

Bush got credit for going after the Taliban in Afghanistan. But I believe the credit should go to the military. Any president in office at that time would have done the same. Bush had the momentum when he drove the Taliban out and used it to talk us into going into Iraq after w.m.d's.Because they weren't found, things starting to go down hill.
I believe the problem with Bush was he hired all 'yes' people when he entered office. And anyone who opposed his ideas got the ax. Therefor he didn't get accurate information. And a lot of people in the real world and knew some of what was going on in Iraq were afraid to voice their expert opinion which could have made a difference.

Bush was right in going to Afghanistan to get rid of Al Qaeda, but he never completed the task, and as a result, Al Qaeda is stronger, but he tried.

As far as I am concerned, Iraq was not a mistake, but a source of revenge. Saddam said that he wanted to kill Pappa Bush, so Dubya had to go avenge this.

Bush has done NOTHING right. In the war on terrorism, in the state of the US economy, in the matter of fiscal responsibility, in the matter of illegal wiretapping, on the matter of being honest and open, and so many other things, it is just impossible to list them all here.

Bush will go down in history as the WORST PRESIDENT EVER, and should be impeached, as should the rest of his administration.

He sent troops into Afghanistan and worked with the Afghani people to try to root out the leaders of Al Qaeda. That was good. Nobody talks about the people of Afghanistan as bad guys the way they so often (mistakenly) claim Iraqis are bad guys despite our "liberating" them.

not a thing.

most of those invovled in 9/11 were saudi.

bin laden is saudi.

clearly there is a poison in the saudi culture.

now bush wants to sell $20 billion technologically advanced arms to saudi arabia.

bush is a serious liability...

you're not gonna get any straight answers man... most want to impeach him... they're not gonna find any good cause they hate the guy... and most couldn't even give you a logical reason as to why... much less something they might like that he's done against terrorism.
