So I am finally ready to get rid of the piece of junk camera that I have and get something nice. I have a Treo cell phone, so touch screen is really my thing now. For that reason, I am thinking about the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2, that has touch screen capability. Additionally, I am thinking about the Cyber-shot DSC-T100/R. Also, if Megapixels matter (do they???) then maybe the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W200 (12 megapixels). But my bubble was burst when some guy was like "what's with all these Sony choices? Canon is the best." The only thing is that the Canon's that I have seen only go up to 7.1 (yes/no??).

So the main problem that I have with my camera is red-eye (NOTHING gets rid of it), and sometimes it won't take a picture because its "charging the flash." So the 2 most important things to me are being able to COMPLETELY prevent red-eye and being able to just snap away w/out having to wait. I'm going to Europe so missing something great b/c of my stupid camera will NOT work! :-)

We have an independent camera shop in town and they sell many brands. Other than the expensive Nikon-D40, D40x, D80 and D200 the owner suggested the whole Canon point and shoot line. My wife has a little Canon digital 525 and the resolution is out of this world.

Sony cameras could be "cool looking", but keep in mind that Canon has been selling some of the best cameras and lenses for a long time. I use Nikon, but between sony and canon, I would choose Canon.

Go Cannon.
They are better known for their cameras and quality lenses.
As for megapixels, unless you want to make poster size prints you don't need any more than 5mp.and that is still overkill.
I get buy with my 5mp.
They always are looking for people like you to buy the latest
and costliest camera available, espacially salesmen who get a commision on the sale.
You do not need 12mp unless you want life size prints which will cost you a fortune
