I live in Hawaii and I'm moving off the island in two weeks to start a new job back on the mainland. I have a 2001 Mitsu. Galant with 62000 miles on it!!! I have a limited time to sell it and I'm growing desparate!! I've put it in the paper, posted flyers all over the island and posted it on cars.com and craigslist!! I've only had one offer!! I heard that as a last resort I could probably sell it to a used car dealership... But I don't wanna get a crappy price for my car. Does anyone know how I can sell my car quickly for a decent price??

The short answer is no. I would take the car to a dealership and see what they will offer you on the car. That way you have an out. If you don't sell it, then you know that you can at least get the price that the dealer offered. Yes, it will be low, since they have to get a profit out of it. Once you get their price, then you may want to get back to the person that made the first offer. Aloha

All that marketing with only one offer can mean only one thing, you're asking price must be way out of line.

My guess would be that you're upside down in the car, you owe much more than it's actual cash value. Don't expect to be able to sell it for what you owe. The payoff on a car has absolutely no bearing on what it's worth. What if you owed nothing, would you take nothing?

Price the car right, and it will sell. KBB is a good place to get an idea of what you should be asking for the car.
