I have been having some really strange dreams in which somebody is trying to kill me, but each time I either escape or wake up. Each time it's in a different setting (but similiarities in setting include it being a large building, like a castle, large house, apartment building, etc.) and there is always a large crowd there, some of the people whom I know and some of whom I don't. Most often the dreams happen on Sunday nights (but not always!!!), and I have a thought it's anxiety for having to return to work the next day (Monday "Morning Blues"), but I can't be sure.

Anybody have some thoughts or similiar experiences?

Dreams of being chased, attacked, or terrorized are always manifestations of anxiety. You may be ignoring personal problems or simple fears in life. Your subconscious mind is simply trying to get you to accept these fears and anxieties.

Knowing nothing about you personally, it is impossible to diagnose anything specific. However, you do have the conscious ability to end the fearful dreams.

Your emotional reaction to these dreams is to be afraid. Although many "real world" rules don't apply in dreams, your emotions are different. Emotions are far more powerful than rational thoughts.

Try this: The next time you find yourself in a dream as described in your question, ask the chaser or monster a question. "What do you want from me?" seems to be good enough. You will find that a couple of things may happen. First, the monster will change into something less scary. A hideous troll could become a pink bunny. Second, the monster could disappear. You would feel better and perhaps would have gained some insight which could travel back into your wakeful state.

Personally, I've had long conversations with my fear inducing dream characters. I once had a dream that a giant was trying to crush me as I ran through a maze of stone corridors. I stopped in the middle of a large room and turned to him. "Why are you trying to kill me," I asked it. It immediately turned into my father and started to cry. I can barely recall the conversation we had after that, but it was incredibly emotional and led to me accepting things about my life.

The trick is that you have to be open to facing your fears.

dream are just bits and pieces of things in our minds, whether it was yesterday or 10 years ago! I have made the mistake of falling asleep with the t.v.on. And the movie "The Thing" was on.Of course,I had a bad dream. With different scenes but,of a monster similiar to the thing attacking me! You could have had a bad experience let's say: crossing a small bridge when you were a little girl and almost fallen.if you were looking down at the red tenni shoes you had on.For years to come, seeing red shoes could trigger you dreaming about falling off tall buildings or out of trees.but, the dream wouldn't be a "play for play" remebrance of the whole afternoon when you were a little girl, who almost fell. I believe dreams are just bits of goals, fantasies, memories, regrets, guilty feelings and fears all jammed in together when we sleep.Different medicines can affect or dreams also.

i think it has probably something to do with horror movies that u watched recently like Saw 3, Hostel 2 etc. These are just useless movies that appeal to the senses. If you dont watch scary movies, you can't visualize them in your dreams. I only watch action movies and comedies. Also, try to sort out your relationships in your daily life whether it is in the office or at home. It is very important to have good relation with every one. Never have any enemy. Also, put some nice music on before you sleep. Open the window to have enough fresh air. You can also consult your psychologist if you are really worried. I think everything is going to be just fine.

Cheers!

Dreams are strange and we really have no explanation for them. Since it happens on Sunday nights, I certainly wouldn't go into a large building by myself and maybe going to church on Sunday morning would help give you peace and the dreams would go away. Who knows about dreams...not many people.

I'm no dream expert but...I have learned from others who are that dreams sometime mean the opposite. Sounds like you might be afraid of something. I always have a dream that I am walking to the alter to marry this religious man and I end up running for my life. I am afraid that my destiny will happen this way. Won't know til it happens!

Being in a building represents your phsical body, the room it occurs in can give you insight into what area of yourself it is (for example, the bedroom tends to represent your sexual side or the living room is what you put out to the world) and even what kind of house and how it's kept can give you clues as to how you currently see yourself. Hmmm... according to dreammoods.com, seeing a crowd says it means you're feeling crowded. Do you? Do you ever feel like you have no time to yourself? Like you wish you could have more time alone?

It sounds like anxiety...from a large building, it means public..as does the crowd....sociol fall out? Just the fact that you recall these dreams says you already stressed out..you stay awake at least a few min. each time...is this a new period of adjustment...i think it will pass...the more you think about it ...the more it will return. this is very normal.

I think anxiety plays a part in which dreams we have .
Dreams are our minds way of attempting to deal with things -more than likely things that we are not entirely aware of during the waking part of our day.
